The rates of cervical cancer in Canada are plateauing primarily due to lower-than-optimal human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rates, a decline in screening participation, and gaps in follow-up care. 
Key factors contributing to this concerning trend include: Suboptimal HPV Vaccination Uptake: While all provinces and territories offer school-based HPV vaccination programs, the coverage for two doses among 14-year-olds was around 65 per cent in 2023, well below the 90 per cent target needed to accelerate elimination. Misinformation and a lack of awareness have been cited as reasons for the lower uptake.

The White House has stated that the Jeffrey Epstein emails mentioning Donald Trump were "selectively leaked" by House Democrats to "create a fake narrative" and "smear President Trump". 
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated the emails "prove absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong". I am a 20-year-old woman, and this event occurred four years ago, when I was around 16. It was during the summer between my sophomore and junior years of high school. I've encountered several unsettling situations living in West Virginia, but this remains one of the most disturbing. I'll recount the events as accurately as I can. This happened in Cherry River, just before it flows into Nicholas County. My friend and I drove separately and met at a pull-off along the main road to do some fishing. Next to the pull-off was a place called State Road Garage. It was enclosed by a fence that required a key for entry. At the time, I didn't know its purpose. but later research revealed that it belongs to the West Virginia Department of Transportation. To the left of the building is a short trail that led down to the river. That evening, the garage appeared to be deserted, with no cars or workers in sight.

In 2007, shortly after my 15th birthday, my mom was at her town for a few days on a business trip. Autumn had always held a special place in my heart. If I may be imaginative for just a sec, I always loved watching the last crimson leaves cling to the skeletal branches of trees. The sky is often painted in shades reminiscent of blood that loomed over a perpetually overcast backdrop typical of late autumn. It was a season filled with beauty and melancholia. And for someone like me, restless and incredibly bored with my small-town life, there was nothing better than soaking in the scenery. However, my friends Jake and Maya insisted that I needed an adrenaline rush to shake things up. I responded with an exaggerated eye roll, but that did little to sway their determination. One day, Jake suggested, Do you know the old Miller's place? It's pretty much a shack that's falling apart. It's only a few miles into Blackwood Forest. Blackwood Forest was more than just old. It was legendary in our town.
