Today's Talk with Erika

It’s the Second Episode of Today’s Talk with Erika, Breast Cancer Talks. Throughout October, each Monday will feature guests in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In this second episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Jay K. Harness, a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of California-Irvine and a breast surgeon at both St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA and Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop, CA. Dr. Harness is also the author of “The Breast Cancer Answers Book” and “Operative Approaches to Nipple-Sparing Mastectomy: Indications, Techniques & Outcomes.”;

Cindy Papale-Hammontree joins the show as a breast cancer survivor and three-time author of “The Empty Cup Runneth Over” “Miami Breast Cancer Experts” and “Experts in Pink” (now in Spanish, “Expertos en Rosa”);

Village of Palmetto Bay Mayor Karyn Cunningham will be on the show. She’s an accomplished teacher, activist and advocate for education. Today Mayor Cunningham shares her sister, Katherine Honey.

Katherine is a Harpist for cancer patients in local hospitals. She has an extensive background when it comes to playing the Harp. Katherine has also played for three U.S. Presidents, a former Secretary of State and some celebrities. She has a beautiful, unique gift and she shares that gift with us on the show. You won’t want to miss it!

On this episode of Today’s Talk with Erika… Chelsea Flores is a State Farm Insurance Agent in Lake City, FL. She has been affiliated with State Farm since 2011 and opened her own office in 2017. On this episode of Today's Talk with Erika... Army Veteran Mike Blanco is a decorated and accomplished senior military operations officer with 18 years professional and military experience. His expertise extends to the areas of overseeing and leading daily operations, forecasting training, resource, and personnel requirements, and monitoring organizational capabilities for the purpose of optimizing performance. Mike earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from FIU and a Master’s in Business Administration and Finance from Syracuse University. He had a highly successful career in finance before ultimately answering the call of military service. He would go on to serve in several command billets to include reconnaissance commander of the 82nd Airborne division. Mike would ultimately plan and execute over 1000 security and combat operations over the course of multiple deployments to the middle east. He is the recipient of numerous military awards and decorations and was selected for the Army’s prestigious Project Warrior program and Congressional National Security Panel. Mike retired from military service following injuries sustained due to a parachute malfunction that occurred during a training exercise. He now engages in veteran advocacy and works as a freelance business and management consultant.
