It's a Golden Gopher Thursday with Mike Grimm joining Todd from the Minnesota State Fair. They talk fair memories some, preview the Gopher football and volleyball seasons and Grimmer gives tips on attending the football games this season.

Todd makes his weekly appearance on The Al Travis Show, which is carried weekdays from 1-4pm on KWLM. Is the NIL ruining college sports? What exactly is an "Immaculate Inning" in baseball, and why didn't the Twins have one before? If they drop 3 of 4 this weekend, are they out of contention? Todd sees a team getting hot with a history of staying hot in their division, what the Twins do could be a moot point.

Greg Snow joins Todd and they talk about The FedEx Cup playoffs and the changes coming to that. Are the guys a fan of match-play? Yes, but is that the best format to decide the season long champion? JJ McCarthy is in another QB competition, this time for the back-up spot. That's not good. 

Matt Williams joins Todd and tey talk about the fall prep sports season with practices and games already happening. Matt's daughter has her first varisty tennis match. Matt hasn't been watching golf because the majors are long over, he doesn't think the compressed PGA Tour schedule is really helping them gain viewers. Matt very disappointed in how the twins got steamrolled by the Padres. It's strange to watch a sub-.500 team still be in the playoff hunt. Who will be the QB2 for the Vikings?

Shawn Bohlsen kicks off another week of the podcast. He and Todd talk about the MGA 4-Ball event Shawn played at Eagle Creek. The upcoming match-play club tournament and how different that is compared to stroke play. Wyndham Clark wins the Fed Ex tournament in St. Louis, not a very popular champion. The Vikings still list JJ McCarthy as their QB2 but will that be the case when the season starts? The Twins get thumped by the Padres three straight, but they are still in the playoff chase.

Jeff Asche joins Todd and they talk about the Minnesota State Am Baseball Tournament that starts this weekend and runs through Labor Day weekend. Several area teams are participating. The competitive golf season in the area ends in the next week with Club Tournaments. More bragging rights earned in those than almost any other am tournament. Jeff is fine with Kyler Murray as the Vikings QB and wonders of JJ McCarthy will play his best football somewhere else.

It's a Golden Gopher Thursday with Mike Grimm joining Todd. Another ruling in the courts has made another group of athletes eligible to continue playing, even if they have played an NFL Preseason game. Grimmer says there is optimism around the team with a potential first round pick in QB Drake Lindsey running the show.

Greg Snow joins Todd and talks about the MGA 4-Ball Championship at Eagle Creek. The episode was recorded before the conclusion of the tournament. Scottie Scheffler reigns supreme on the PGA Tour once again, does anybody not like him? He's different than cheering for Tiger or Phil in their heyday. Greg thinks the Twins will make the playoffs, after some cajoling by Todd.

Matt Williams joins Todd and they preview the upcoming prep season with Todd talking about coming back for season #32 of being the Voice of Cardinals Football. Matt is the Voice of Cardinals BB. Matt thinks the whole "QB competition" with the Vikings wasn't real, it was always Kyler Murray's job. He thinks JJ McCarthy should prepare to play some games this year. Neither of the guys is sold that Kyler is the answer. Can the Twins make the playoffs? Why didn't they trade Joe Ryan or Ryan Jeffers? The guys take opposite sides, one negative, one positive.
