It's a Golden Gopher Thursday with Mike Grimm joining Todd. Grimmer expresses his frustration with the play calling for the Gophers. He believes Drake Lindsey is capable of more downfield, but the Gophers coaches are afraid of turnovers. They preview the UCLA game this Saturday.

Greg Snow joins Todd and talks about a late season golf event he played in the Brainerd area over the weekend. He doesn't say it on the podcast but mentioned to Todd off-air that Eagle Creek will be open again next week with nicer weather approaching. Are the Vikings "soft-benching" Kyler Murray with a hamstring injury designation? The guys are on opposite sides of the argument. If there is a QB controversy, it's Kyler vs who? How much weight does KOC carry in the QB personnel decisions, probably a lot. If that's case, he has made enough mistakes to be on the hot seat if the Vikings season turns south on them. 

It's a Timberwolves Tuesday with Cal Soderquist joining Todd. 

Shawn Bohlsen joins Todd and they talk about the Vikings loss in Detroit. Shawn says not to panic, it's just one loss. Be patient with Kyler, he's the best option. Shawn would not even consider Carson Wentz taking over unless Murray is injured. Should they trade a first round pick and other assets for RB Jonathan Taylor. Why did KOC punt with three minutes left? The Gophers almost beat Indiana and Hoosier Coach Curt Cignetti would have shouldered much of the blame for some strange clock management in the final minute of regulation.

Jeff Asche joins Todd and they talk about the excitement surrounding the Willmar Cardinals Football team this fall as they head into the playoffs undefeated. Todd will have the call of the game Saturday afternoon starting at 2:40PM vs Rocori. The Gophers still have to wash off the stink of the Purdue loss, even after beating Ipwa, if they want to be ranked. This is a good week to do that playing at Indiana. Both guys predict a Vikings win over the Lons, but these things need to happen. Kick in the stomach news when the Wolves announced that Ant would be gone for two months. Rudy needs to be better.

Gopher linebackers and alumni LB'ers did well, with Blake Cashman being named DPOW with the Vikings. Grimmer relates a story about Cashman when he was a Fr. special teams player out of Eden Prairie. Despite their distaste for all teams in Wisconsin, both guys enjoyed the Brewers WS Championship.

Renville County Commissioner Greg Snow joins Todd and the guys talk about the Vikings. Why did Kyler Murray regress from the previous game? He has the 2nd highest play-action percentage in the NFL, is that the best offense for him? Is Coach O'Connell designing offenses for his QB's, or making his QB's adjust to his offense? It seems obvious what he's doing and is that the best approach. The guys are split on their prediction for the Lions game this Sunday. Ant Edwards knee injury, bummer.

Matt Williams joins Todd and they talk about it being time for Sections for the fall sports teams. The Cardinal football team earned a first round bye and play Saturday at 3pm, Pregame coverage on KWLM starts at 2:40pm. Both guys are trying to enjoy a 6-0 start to the Vikings season, but there is a lot of angst among fans, and broadcastersalike according to Matt. He listened to the first half and PA and Pete Bercich couldn't hide their emotions, and they weren't positive. It's so strange watching the JJ McCarthy saga play out. Todd thinks KOC is repeating the same mistakes he made with JJM with Kyler Murray. Wolves are going to be contenders all season, and even though they lost in Cleveland, last night showed why.
