In this Episode’s Main Quest, I chat with my Air Force buddy and author, Jake. His author name is Jacob Alan Richmond. We talk about retirement and why his book, ‘The Love of Fury,’ is actually pretty good! The side quests continue when I went to the U.S. Air Force’s ‘Pitch Day’ in New York City, did some work to help promote ‘Captain Marvel,’ and Karina and I got a treadmill for our apartment…the art of lazy-fitness is at the max. This episode I explain how I use the Kaizen Method in order to prepare for my retirement. I crowd-source the internet by taking some well known personality tests in order to find out which career field to look into. I also meet Brig Gen (sea) Brenda Cartier, Director of Operations for Air Force Special Operations Command and attend her TED Talk on targeted masculinity. Whilst there, I learn about a doctor who hopes to cure mental illness through a vaccine! Also, Karina and I continue Snore Wars, 2019.

In this episode Chris sends me over some sage advice about retiring and transitioning from the military- stuff you can’t “Google.” I crashed Chinatown to check out a Buddhist temple and learn about the Year of the Pig, stopping at my favorite secret Chinese food spot in Manhattan. Also, I take my monthly trip to Barcade to try and get on the leaderboard. Karina and I pass level 1 of roller skate lessons, and we find out what “Naruto” means whilst eating a new ramen spot we found by our house.

This episode I call up my long-time buddy Ryan, who is also getting ready to launch into the civilian world. We talk fish analogies, fashion, and fresh reminiscings of when we were stationed together. Also, Karina and I talk Scottish people ice skating in kilts and unicorns take over my living room during one of the most boring Super Bowls un U.S. history.

I get real with my Dad, the “Todd Father,” and we talk about what it was like for him to retire from the U.S. Air Force. Karina and I went to the New York Transit Museum to continue my fascination with trains. We also get rollin’ at the Brooklyn’s Dreamland Roller Disco. I talk with Denise about what it was like to retire from the Air Force. Karina and I get super lucky and attend a in-studio screening of SNL. Karina’s show reaches 1000 episodes and Rachael Ray says my name correctly. Lessons are learned and a good time is had by all.

 We are married, no kids, and live in New York City. Karina works in TV and I work as an active duty Airman in the United States Air Force. I am barreling headfirst into the world of civilians because in a little more that a year, I’ll be retiring and separating from the military.  

I feel like I’ve been living my life so fast I needed to stop and smell the roses. TODD Quest will be a way to remind me- really remind myself, how much fun I had. It’ll be a way for me to organize my thoughts on the past, present and future. It really is a show for my friends and family, but If other people are interested and can relate- that’s cool with me. So the following is what happens when you’re special, just like everyone else.
