What do you picture when you think about God? An untouchable, unapproachable king on a far away throne? An angry, impatient observer who tallies your every move? Or a father who could never love you more than He does right now? Because how you view God changes how you see everything.

 

 

You can win the battle for your mind. Jesus prepares a table for you in the presence of your enemies. There’s nothing to worry about; your head is dripping with anointing, your cup overflows with abundance, and goodness and mercy are following you all the days of your life. The Good Shepherd is sitting at your table. It’s a meal for the two of you.

Winning the battle for your mind requires you to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. When a thought is obedient to Christ, it either aligns with Him or is rejected by Him and by God’s teaching found in Scripture. If a thought is not taken captive by you in Jesus’ name, that thought will take you captive.

We grow best when we grow together as part of a worshiping community that has different strengths, gifts, insights, and backgrounds than we do. If we are to grow and be the Body of Christ as God has called us to be, then we need one another (Rom. 12:3-5)

Value #3 We Send Every Member

Calling is not a special experience for a sacred few. It is a basic element of the Christian life. When believers accept Jesus, they accept his call to join him in his mission. The question, then, is not if our people are sent on mission, but only where and how.
