Together We’re Straight Podcast

Together Jilberto and Liz talking about working out together, dying your hair, planning out their lives, feelings and dad’s not attending weddings and one women wedding shows.

This week on Together We’re Straight, Jilberto’s gone blonde—do blondes really have more fun, or is he just chaotic? Liz hit the top of her teaching asiprations and left it to be funny full-time, and honestly, we lover her for that. Jilberto is an Aries and a cat, apparently. Liz, please send more baby pics. immediately.

Jilberto and Liz dive into their favorite Oscar movies, debrief Jilberto’s wedding with a few lessons learned, and—of course—pay tribute to the one and only queen, Brené Brown.

This week on the pod, Liz and Jilberto dive into the wild world of jealousy — what it is, where it comes from, and why it makes us feel like we’re starring in our own reality show.

Plus, they workshop new material, including:

In this episode Jilberto and Liz barely talk about this week’s theme: Love, instead talking only about work and stumbling upon a new segment called Technically It’s a Joke.

In this episode of Together We’re Straight Jilberto and Liz the two discuss a curious encounter with a woman in an elevator, reflect on regrets (and whatever the opposite of a regret is) as we age, and make a tentative plan to work out together at Barry’s Bootcamp. Sponsored by Magic Mind. Not really but honestly Magic Mind, we DARE you to find a podcast episode that features you more.

In this episode of Together We’re Straight, Jilberto and Liz embark on a sweet (and slightly chaotic) cake tasting to help Jilberto decide on the perfect wedding cake. Along the way, they dive into the art of truly participating in life—whether it’s savoring an oyster (because, after all, the world is your oyster) or fully committing to a karaoke performance. Speaking of karaoke, they realize their music taste is undeniably that of gay men, leading to a serious discussion on how they should harmonize when they finally take the stage. Liz also casually drops the fact that she has twelve years of journals, which spirals into a reflection on nostalgia, memory, and why minimalism is an uphill battle. Tune in for cake, chaos, and an existential crisis or two.

On this episode of Together We’re Straight, Jilberto and Liz discuss THEIR Project 2025 which involves a roundabout discussion of How to Be a Dad (spoiler alert: do TM, get mugged at gunpoint, come back to TM class the next day).

Together, Jilberto and Liz break down the illusion of reality TV storylines, the undeniable truth captured by Nest cameras, and whether aliens might actually exist. They share hilarious takes on acting teachers, Liz’s journey to passing the New York bar, and WBJO’s constant fundraising requests. They also question the role of real estate agents, recount Liz and Karen’s independent home-buying experience, and reflect on impatient fathers striving to improve. The duo debates Macy’s vs. Nordstrom’s sales tactics, crowns Korean spas as the ultimate winners, and explore what truly drives someone to excel as a comedian.

In this special episode of Together, They’re Straight, LIZ AND JILBERTO TELL THEIR COMING OUT STORIES! The duo gets personal, sharing heartfelt and hilarious accounts of their journeys. Meanwhile, Liz has a very literal boiler issue (not a metaphor, we promise), and they bond over a quirky coincidence: both have only one ear pierced.

Equal parts funny and touching, this episode delivers the laughs you expect with a side of meaningful moments.
