Roman 8:1-4

Jesus is the fulfillment of the Law of Moses. There is nothing wrong with the Law of Moses. There is something wrong with man. Mankind has fallen from God due to sin. We cannot therefore keep the law. So we needed a Savior. Not only do we need a Savior but we need a God who loves us and was willing to save us and do whatever it takes to bring our salvation to fruition.

We owe everything to our Lord Jesus.

We are one in Christ. There may be many denominations but there is no division. There may be many different languages but there is no division. There may be different skin colors but there is no division in the church. We are one in Christ and He is one God. If He is one God there is only one way to be saved and that is through faith and trust in His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

We know why Jesus was born. To save the world from sin. Jesus gave the reason He was born when Pilate asked Him if He was a king. People are always trying to discredit Christianity some way or another. It is always easy to discredit God. For people have a generic few of God. Is He a force, a part of nature, is He the God of the Bible or is he the god of the Mormons or the JW’s. Or is the Allah? Well God revealed Himself to the Jews and gave us His standards called the law or the ten commandments. We found out what God requires through the Law. But when Jesus was born we found out what God is like. We are fully introduced to Him in Jesus. Jesus Christ separates Himself from all other gods and ideas about who God is. We see God fully revealed in Jesus Christ. Why was Jesus born…..

There have been great moments and times in history. The flood, Noah’s ark, the exodus and the ten commandments, the captivity of Israel and Judah and their return, the prophets, the kings, and Israel becoming a nation in 1948 and today many people think the invention of the first printing press, the discovery of germs, of electricity, the revolutionary war, the civil war, world wars I and II, Pearl Harbor, the creation of the atom bomb, the assassination of John Kennedy, etc the discovery of gene’s and DNA were great moments in history and they were… but the greatest was the birth of Jesus Christ.

Isaiah says that we would call His name Immanuel. Which means God with us. The greatest moment in history was the birth of Jesus. For if He was not born, He could not have died for our sins. If He had not been born, He could not be raised from the dead. If He had not been born once, He could not come again to this earth. The Birth was the greatest moment in earth’s history. This is where God brought it all together.

Isaiah 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

This world is in darkness no doubt about that. We are lost to God as a nation and a world.

Buy God didn't leave us in darkness. He sent us a light. Not A light but THE light of the world to guide us to reconciliation with Him.

The following hymn (vv. 46–55) gets its name, the “Magnificat,” from the Latin word for magnifies. One of four hymns in the first two chapters of Luke (vv. 67–79; 2:14; 2:29–32), Mary’s hymn is a recital of what God had done for her and for others in the past.

One thing about this passage is that God changes everything. When the Lord intercedes everything changes. One day with no warning or preparation, God intervened in the life of a young girl and the whole world would never be the same again. Jesus Christ who was born would be the greatest man, the God-man who ever walked the earth. He was God walking among humans. Born of a virgin as no other man had been born. Born to give His life as a ransom for many as no other man had been born. Raised from the dead after three days like no other man had been raised. He would change everything in the lives of those who followed Him.

One day God is going to suddenly intervene again. This time you have been warned to prepare. Many passages in the Bible tell us to prepare for this event. But very few are heeding the warnings and even fewer even believe that Jesus is going to rapture His church.

But whether people believe it or not does not change the fact that Jesus Christ will come for His church and everything will change for those who are His followers. When Jesus came the first time He changed His address from heaven to earth when He comes to get His church it is the church that is changing their address from earth to heaven.

Israel was God revelation of Himself to the world. Israel was not a mission minded group. God did not tell Israel to go and tell but to come and stay. The church is told to go and tell. Israel was given great blessings so the world would see that God was the true God and give them great faith in God. The church is given persecution in order to give them greater faith which the world will see and want to follow. The law was given to prepare man for salvation. Jesus came to bring us this salvation. The law was to be obeyed in order to be saved. Jesus Christ is to be trusted in faith in order to be saved.

Daniel 12:10 says concerning the last days….Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

The wicked..those who reject Jesus Christ will not understand the signs of the time but the wise…those who trusted in and are following Jesus Christ….will understand the signs of the times.

We are told to “Fret not” several times in this passage. The Bible says that evil men shall wax worse and worse in the last of the last days. We see frightening things that the wicked are plotting. I see ten things the wicked are doing today to destroy the Godly.

1. Islam…. is threating our own nation with Sharia as we see more and more of them coming to our nation as refugees. They will not assimilate but seek to get us to submit. Islam means “submit.”

2. Homosexual agenda….. has taken over our nation. Same sex marriage and transgenderism.

3. Violence…. is everywhere and we are not safe anywhere in this nation.

4. War…Nations are threatening the US and each other and many nations have nuclear and EMP bomb capability.

5. Freedoms….. are eroding as we are being watched and monitored constantly and it’s going to get worse.

6. Disease…… and death still reign despite all of our medical advances.

7. Free speech….. will soon disappear in favor of offending people. Hate speech will be outlawed and it already has begun.

8. Liars.…... They can accuse you of anything with no basis of facts, use outright lies and ruin your life. Fake news is just lying and it is used by almost every news organization.

9. Antisemitism…..Everyone hates the Jews and the church is no exception.

10. False Teaching…….Bad Bible teachers and lost men in the pulpits. Taking the church from verse by verse Bible preaching and teaching to social justice, tolerance and antisemitism.

But in all this we have a hope that is steadfast and sure and there is no hope for the wicked. Therefore we should have complete confidence in the promises of God and not fear and "Fret Not" about anything.

Everyone wants to be successful. Think about it. Even criminals want to be successful in their crimes. Every man wants to be successful when he goes deer hunting. He wants to be successful in repairing that faucet. He should to be a successful father and husband. He wants to be successful in his work so he can make more money for his family. A woman wants to be successful as a mother and wife. She wants to raise successful children and grandchildren. She wants to be successful in all of her endeavors. Nobody wants to be a failure. But failures come every day. Let me give you an example of a failure…..

Fired from his first job

Defeated for state legislature

Failed in business then Appointed postmaster

Fired as Postmaster

His sweetheart died

Had a nervous breakdown

Defeated for Speaker of Illinois House

Defeated for nomination for Congress

Elected to congress in but Lost renomination two years later

Rejected for land officer

Declined appointment as secretary and then as governor of Oregon Territory

Defeated for U.S. Senate

Defeated for nomination for Vice President

Again defeated for U.S. Senate

Who was this colossal failure? Abraham Lincoln. Success comes when we refuse to let our failures discourage us. Lincoln never quit and today we remember him, no….. we revere him as one of the greatest men in our nations history!

Jesus was the most successful person in world history. But history is HIS STORY. He was rejected of all men, yet He was successful in everything He did. What is the secret to Jesus Success and to us as well?
