Every single DC sports team that is in season is playing on Sunday, May 23. Wizards clinched their playoff spot against the 76ers and will play in Philly at 1 pm. Nats play Orioles in a 1:00 game, DC United is also home with a 7 pm start as well as the Caps in their playoff game 5 against the Bruins at 7pm. Finally the Mystics are in Texas with a 1 pm game.

Rumors that Drake would be in Columbia Heights at 14th Street and Kenyon Street filming a music video for a Nicki Minaj song he’s featured on called “Seeing Green” after a flyer claiming to be from Warner Records circulated social media.

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Virginia will be the first group of students to launch a liquid-fueled rocket to space. The plan is to launch another rocket up 5000 feet by 2022 and hope to reach space by 2025.

Harry and Meghan are making some headlines, again. Today Harry launches his docuseries “The Me You Can’t See” with pal Oprah Winfry on Apple +. Earlier in the week the Archewell Foundation announced in their ongoing partnership with Jose Andres’ World Central Kitchen will establish their latest community relief center in Mumbai, India.

Smithsonian Museums are reopening on Friday, May 21, including the National Museum of American History, National Museum of the American Indian and National Zoo. Visitors will need to obtain a free timed-entry pass for each location.

It is the first and only national memorial dedicated to telling the complete story of the women’s suffrage movement in America, honoring the 5 million women of every state, creed, and race who for the right to vote for more than 70 years.

Wine making is happening in space, a group of California winemakers has launched a supply of grape juice into space to determine whether it will ferment into wine without the benefit of gravity. The grape juice, from Lodi's Michael David Winery, was sent to the International Space Station via an unmanned vessel back in February after the company's Jeff Farthing submitted a request to conduct the experiment.

The Capitals 2021 Playoffs have Panda-monium. There is a limited-edition merchandise featuring the National Zoo’s giant panda cub Xiao Qi Ji and hockey sticks in honor of the Capitals Stanley Cup Playoff Run. T-shirts, hats and masks are available in the collection.

Broadway is coming back to DC! National Theatre announced their Broadway series kicking off in December of 2021 and it includes Pretty Woman: The Musical, Come From Away, and Rent.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority concluded that the Amazon “Helix,” exceeds Federal Aviation Administration height standards near Reagan National Airport.

Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that vaccinated people in DC no longer need to wear masks indoors or outdoors, in accordance with CDC guidelines. With the exception that if businesses have signage requiring you to wear a mask, you must comply and wear one, regardless of vaccination status.

Lafayette Park by the White House re-opened last week, and there is another French guy statute - his name is Rochambeau. We learn about his role in American history.

There has been a steady decline of lesbian bars, in the late 1980s, an estimated 200 lesbian bars existed in the United States. By 2019, researchers believed only 15 remain. The Lesbian Bar Project has been supporting and bringing awareness to this decline. DC does have a lesbian bar in Adams Morgan called a League of Their Own.

Chick-fil-A said it would be limiting the number of sauces it provides with each order. Chick-fil-A said, "Due to industry-wide supply chain disruptions, some Chick-fil-A restaurants are experiencing a shortage of select items, like sauces. We are actively working to make adjustments to solve this issue quickly and apologize to our Guests for any inconvenience.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says people who are fully vaccinated can forgo their masks and social distancing in many indoor situations. The DMV area is waiting for guidelines from state and counties for how that affects activities.

"Today, CDC is updating our guidance for fully vaccinated people," CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said Thursday at a White House COVID-19 briefing. "Anyone who is fully vaccinated, can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing. If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic."

Angelina Jolie Movie Comes Out today “ Those Who Wish Me Dead” in theaters (is anyone going to a theater) and on HBO Max. Local band Shaed, releasing new music with their new album High Dive.

There is a Friends reunion happening and a tease video was released on Thursday, May 13. It will air on May 27th on HBO Max. Special guests include : Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, BTS, Tom Selleck, David Beckham and more. Friends went off the air in 2004.

After The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service extended the tax deadline by one month back in March, the last day to file your taxes is on Monday, May 17. The average tax refund this year is almost $3,000 and 40 million taxpayers have yet to file.

The National Cathedral will reopen its doors to the public on Friday, May 14. Tours and Sunday services are still closed, but members of the public can purchase tickets to view their new art installation “Les Colombes” (The Doves) starting Friday night. A few of the Smithsonian museums also begin reopening including the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame revealed its 2021 inductees on Wednesday, May 12. To be eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. Nominees are Virginia’s own Dave Grohl, Jay Z, Go-Go, Carole King, Todd Rundgren, and Tina Turner.

The Washington Capitals are getting ready for the Stanley Cup Playoffs and will distribute to fans “Playoff Pump Up Packs” filled with swag today at Capital One Arena from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Amazon released new plans for its proposed second phase of construction at its HQ2 site in Arlington. This second phase on the PenPlace campus depicts a “Forest Plaza,” which will be located at the base of the Helix, where there will be “forest rooms for communal gatherings” and “a cascading water feature that creates a cooling microclimate for all to enjoy.”
