  • Effect.ai unlocking the value of data with AI & human talent combined
Joining us this time is Chris Dawe, CEO and Co-Founder of Effect.ai, the company helping organisations succeed with structuring data and the deployment of AI automation. Effect.ai brings intelligence to data to help businesses make use of and experiment with the data they have.

Data is usable when it’s structured. That’s why Natural Language Processing (NLP) is the holy grail of artificial intelligence. Today, humans still play a vital role in AI, validating systems and structuring data sets. Effect.ai’s approach is to incorporate humans and algorithms working together, and their message to organisations is that incorporating AI is simple, it’s not expensive, and it’s something organisations should make a move on now.

Blockchain is a powerful tool that is enabling Effect.ai to tap into a global workforce to translate and structure organisations’ data. As an individual, it doesn’t matter where you are, you can join the platform and value can be transmitted to you through blockchain. That’s why thousands are already earning crypto on the blockchain structuring and translating data. It’s another example of blockchain enabling fairer value distribution across the globe.

Chris is sitting in the front seat of AI. We ask him, where’s artificial intelligence heading? What kind of products are appearing in the marketplace? How are companies like Amazon and Tesla actually AI companies?

  • Creating value from data in the Telco industry with Charlotte Patrick
In this episode we dive into data monetisation and the commercial opportunities created by data in the telco industry.

Our guest Charlotte Patrick is an independent analyst who specialises in AI, automation and analytics for the telco industry and has made a career previously with Gartner. According to Patrick, an average telco could gain 300M USD of yearly revenue from data - and this is only considering the use cases known to us now.

We hear Patrick’s fascinating insights on where the telco industry is heading with regards to data, where we will start seeing value created from the data generated by our phones, and what kind of innovative business models technology enables in this sphere.

We also touch upon the concept of Data Unions: how putting individuals - the phone users - in control of their data and allowing individuals to gain a revenue share in data sales can open up competitive advantages for telco providers.

  • Continental and the Web 3 technologies shaping the automotive industry
For this episode of the TX podcast, we invited Stefan Schneider and Konrad Hilarius of Continental to talk about how Web 3 technologies are shaping the future of the automotive industry.

Continental, one of the largest automotive suppliers in the world, develops pioneering technologies and services for sustainable and connected mobility. Their intelligent database services aggregate, enhance and deliver data, for example, to provide drivers with predictive information on the road ahead to increase the safety, comfort and efficiency of driving.

It’s estimated that by 2025, 90% of produced vehicles will have embedded connectivity solutions. With the increasing number of connected vehicles, sensors, and amount of vehicle data that is collected, data sharing is a growing trend in the automotive industry that offers huge potential for building new services and for automotive companies to create new revenue streams from data.

In their roles at Continental, Schneider and Hilarius are looking into uprising technologies such as data monetisation based on blockchain technology and intelligent transportation systems. Where do they see the automotive industry heading in terms of data and data economies? What are the types of data coming out of vehicles and how to commercialise it? What will the future of driving look like?

    Listen to find out more.

  • TX Podcast - Whim
“Without data, there is no Mobility as a Service”

In our latest installment of the TX Podcast, we talk to Krista Huhtala-Jenks, Head of Ecosystem & Sustainability at the world’s first Mobility as a Service operator MaaS Global and VP of the MaaS Alliance.

MaaS Global is the company behind the Whim app, which is already live in a number of cities and regions across Europe, including Helsinki, Turku, Antwerp, West Midlands and Vienna. They aim to provide their customers with the sustainable freedom of mobility. Giving them easy access to any of the mobility services that they need through all-encompassing mobility subscriptions.

In this episode we delve into the future direction of the MaaS industry and the role of data. We consider issues of ownership of the data produced by customers and transparency and visibility around what their data is used for. We also discuss how technologies like the @Streamr Technology Stack can play a role in the MaaS industry by incentivising the end customers to share their data for social good.

  • MPTC and the potential of data for Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS)
On this week’s episode, we have Raymund Patrick Ramos, Technology Officer at Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, the largest toll road operator in the Philippines and one of the largest in Asia.

With ever increasing congestion on road networks and demand for Mobility as a Service (MaaS) offerings, MPTC is one of the forward thinking tollroad operators beginning their data journey to unlock value from data and create improved services for their customers.

In the Philippines, the area of Metro Manila faces significant levels of congestion. In central Metro Manila, moving a 10km distance can take you 1-2 hours, even more at worst, making travel in the area stressful and time-consuming.

In this podcast, we deep dive into the main congestion challenges facing Metro Manila, and what MPTC as a tollroad operator is doing to overcome these challenges and improve the overall traveller experience. We also touch on the work we’ve been doing together to assess the opportunities for engineering value out of data produced by road assets and road users in MPTC’s journey to become a data-driven company.

  • UnionBank of the Philippines
In this episode, we’re talking about how innovative technologies in the financial sector are helping to bank those that are unbanked.

Our guest Ramon Duarte, Head of Platform and Transactions of UnionBank of the Philippines joins us to discuss UnionBank’s exciting initiatives involving blockchain and data monetisation.
UnionBank has been one of the leading banking institutions to adopt blockchain, understanding its role as a mitigator of trust in trade between different parties. In the Philippines, there is no unified identity system. Through blockchain solutions, UnionBank is driving financial inclusion by providing financial services such as loans to people who don’t exist in the system.
One of the most progressive banks in the world, UnionBank sees the value of blockchain in enabling solutions that make a difference whilst still making commercial sense.

Together TX, UnionBank, WWF and Streamr are developing the blockchain-enabled Tracey application that enables fisherfolk to access micro-financing in return for traceability and trade data in Bicol and Mindoro, Philippines.
