This week on The Book Fix, we’re firing up the ovens for another Bake Fix challenge—turning the book cover into a cake. While we attempt to recreate the swoony cover of The Simple Wild (and hopefully not flambé the kitchen), we’re diving into the chaotic, romantic road-trip story inside the book.

After a spectacular culinary meltdown, chef Rita Clarkson is already questioning her life choices when she ends up stranded in the middle of nowhere, New Mexico with her three estranged siblings and a broken car. Enter Jasper Ellis: a dangerously charming biker with a reputation he’d rather escape. What starts as a rescue quickly turns into undeniable chemistry as Rita and Jasper are thrown together for a few intense days. But with Rita’s life elsewhere and Jasper tied to the town that misunderstands him, they have limited time to figure out whether their connection is just a spark—or something worth rewriting their futures for.

Join us as we break down the tropes, the tension, and the small-town swoon factor while we attempt to bake the cover into cake form. Will our decorating skills rise to the occasion, or will this Bake Fix end in total frosting chaos? Either way, there will be romance, crumbs, and questionable baking decisions. 🍰📚
