Effective tools for fundraising your company, the life cycles of growth, and being a female entrepreneur. Jaclyn Baumgarten is the founder of Boatsetter, the largest peer-to-peer boat rental company in the U.S. She was also voted as Inc’s Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs in 2019. As a Stanford business school graduate, she followed what she saw as a “traditional” path, but she decided to take a 6-month sabbatical in order to find an opportunity that could combine her skills and her passion. Through Boatsetter she was able to combine her fond childhood memories of being on a boat while also helping boat owners utilize their them as a financial asset.
Jaclyn is a pioneer in this field because she was able to solve the looming insurance issue that was holding back peer-to-peer boat rentals. She was able to create an insurance product that was specific to boat rentals and is now used by these types of companies all over the world. She has incredible experience fundraising and talks to us about her toolkit that she used to raise $40 million dollars for Boatsetter thus far.
