Spider-Man No Way Home has already become the biggest film of 2021, shattering box office records both post and pre-pandemic as well as receiving rave reviews across the board from critics and fans alike. Being a monumental moment in cinematic history, Spider-Man No Way Home serves multiple purposes; it is a celebration of the character that has been on screen for the past 20 years, it is the end of the "Home" trilogy of films starring Tom Holland, it sets up new events in the Multiverse phase of the MCU, and also a redemption for certain character that have been critically panned in the past. Characters of new and old make an appearance in this film and to much of fans excitement, it meets and exceeds expectations of what a Spider-Man can and should be.

In this episode we spoil the entire film from front to back giving our impressions and emotional responses to all of the events that occurred during the film and what we think these events will eventually mean for the Spider-Verse in the future. It is the end and rebirth of a new phase in Spider-Man cinema and we are here to enjoy the ride!

The live adaptation of the 1998 classic anime COWBOY BEBOP has finally been released on Netflix after years of development hell and COVID-19 uncertainty. The new series stars John Cho, Mustafa Shakir and Daniella Pineda as Spike, Jet and Faye respectively, as they travel through the cosmos trying to catch bounties in order to afford a decent meal for themselves....or at least that's how the original anime series advertised the show back in the day. The new live-action version of Cowboy Bebop is....interesting to say the least. It deviates from the original anime series by taking heavy inspiration from the original source material and essentially remixing it make it anew.

However at its detriment of trying to stay faithful to the original, the new series also takes liberty of changing character motivations and back stories to prevent from being a carbon copy of the original anime series. Some things work, but A LOT of things don't and we here at the Top Back Podcast take a deep dive into how this divisive series succeeds and fails at the same time. The show has stirred up a lot of controversy by alienating old time fans while also racking up an insurmountable amount of mixed to negative reviews from professional critics and bloggers. The Marvel Cinematic Universe train just keeps on rolling. Starring an ensemble cast including Selma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie amongst many others, ETERNALS follow 10 unique beings on Earth as they live amongst humans through some of history's greatest triumphs and tragedies. Directed by Chloe Zhao, ETERNALS is the first of its kind in the MCU and we share our thoughts on our favorite characters and moments form the film. Although it has been a polarizing film for critics, we don't necessarily share the same opinion!

2021 has been jam packed with Marvel Studio's content of films and television shows, but that hasn't stopped them from rolling out more content for the fans and casual viewers. Now at there 25th MCU film, "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" introduces a brand new hero at the forefront, most notably an Asian hero! Shang-Chi is the first ever Asian led Super-Hero released on a grand scale and it did not disappoint. Shang-Chi pays homage to old school Kung-Fu films and respectfully delivers messages about family, honor and Chinese culture. Despite being released during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is a film that should not only be experienced on a big screen, but with others who can laugh, cry and enjoy everything Shang-Chi has to offer!

Before social media and smartphones, video games were many kids outlets of exploring fantastical worlds, socializing with others online and creating fond memories with friends playing at each others houses. Space Jam was a lightning in a bottle moment during the 90's. The marketing behind teaming up the Looney Tunes and Michael Jordan may have sounded random and out of place, but what came out of it was a cult classic movie that (at the time) helped blend 2D and 3D together seamlessly. 25 years later, a sequel to the 90's classic has released in theaters and HBO Max, and instead of his Royal Airness as the main protagonist, King LeBron James takes the mantle leading our favorite Looney Tunes character into another out of this world basketball game with high stakes.
