Top Of The Cage

It only took WWE almost 1000 days, but someone other than Roman Reigns is going to be our new WWE World Heavyweight Champion! This is so exciting for every single top talent in the company that can finally have the chance to reign on top of the mountain as THE GUY. While we acknowledge our Tribal Chief, WWE has some red-hot talent ready to take the role in the main event and will actually be on television weekly.

One of the most exciting things of the WWE year is the WWE Draft. The event divides teams, refreshes feuds, and gives a chance for returns and NXT Superstars to come up to the main roster to wrestle with the best. WWE has had a lot of attention on their show with the news of new ownership and the potential of Vince McMahon coming back full-time, so we just hope they do it well and don't ruin any of our favorite pro wrestlers.

In this week's episode, Juice and Bill dust off their old booker hats as they take the helm of Smackdown and Raw in this mock WWE 2023 Draft. Using a pool of only current WWE talent, potential NXT callups, and superstars slated for big returns a roster of 7 men, 7 women, and 4 tag teams will be drafted in hopes to reign in brand supremacy.

The showcase of the immortals, Wrestlemania 39 has come and gone. There were some really good things about the show, including the Women's Title matches, the Gunther/Sheamus/Drew McIntyre banger, and the emotional Tag Title win by Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. However, there were some bad things too. Why didn't Cody Rhodes best Roman Reigns WWE?

Between Dominik Mysterio and CM Punk, there is some major brat energy going on around them in the world of professional wrestling, albeit on different ends of the spectrum. For the Con Dom, he's just a brat in general. Not able to get over his father being great, and is unable to take action away from his Mami. For Punk, he has aired his grievances with his locker room mates on his deleted Instagram stories.

In this week's episode, Juice and Bill go over the growing drama around CM Punk and his social media posts regarding storylines and other happenings behind the scenes at AEW, as well as discuss the Dominik vs Rey Mysterio match and what the results should be, their favorite storylines going into Wrestlemania, and the recent news regarding Josh Alexander needing to vacate the IMPACT World Heavyweight Championship and what we expect next for the title.

With the upcoming Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns match at WWE's Wrestlemania, the whole professional wrestling world will be holding their breath to see if the American Nightmare can topple the Tribal Chief's record-making title reign and finish his story. Yet that leaves the question, how HAS Roman's WWE title run gone?

In this week's episode, Juice and Bill review the record of Roman Reigns, talking about the best and worst moments from the run and what we would have liked to see done differently while giving praise for the achievement. In this episode, they also discuss Bray Wyatt's current WWE situation and why two Bray marks are starting to wonder what is going on and if it is time for both parties to go their separate ways. The episode wraps with AEW talk and how the prediction of a 4 pillar AEW match seems to be in the cards for MJF's AEW World Championship.

As we approach April, WWE is full steam ahead in the creation of the Wrestlemania card. We have seen plenty of men and women shine bright on the grandest stage of them all, including "Mr. Wrestlemania", Shawn Michaels? But that opens the question, who is "Ms. Wrestlemania"?

In this week's episode, Juice and Bill break down some of Wrestlemania's greatest woman wrestlers to appear on the show, as well as talk about the NXT Stand and Deliver premium live event and the card that is being built for that, and last the topic of AEW making their own "grandest stage" similar to WWE's Wrestlemania, IMPACT's Boundy For Glory, and NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom.

WWE's grandest stage, WrestleMania, is coming upon us once again, and everyone has their eyes on the showcase of the immortals. From thrilling matches to major storyline payoffs, WrestleMania has proven time and time again why it is truly the biggest event in WWE's yearly events. What if it were possible to create a WrestleMania that highlighted the stellar matches and moments, but with a twist?

Only being able to use a WWE Superstar once, Juice and Bill make their fantasy card out of every WrestleMania match using 2 men's world title matches, 2 women's world title matches, 1 tag team titles match, 1 secondary title match, 1 "Celebrity Guest" match, 1 "Past vs. Present" match, 1 match that a wrestler came out of retirement for, and 1 miscellaneous match. So strap on those fantasy booking helmets and tune in to hear what could be the single greatest WWE WrestleMania card in history!

Welcome back to Top Of The Cage! Bill and Juice welcome a return into the cage this week one half of the "Wrestling With The War Podcast", he is BC Hunter!

BC comes back for another round of pro wrestling talk. BC and his partner Jay have recently transitioned their audio podcast to "Wrestling With The War", a dive into the Monday Night War era of WWE and WCW. They watch all the events and action from the mid to late 90s of professional wrestling history, and encourage anyone to follow along with them! The guys also talk about the current wrestling landscape and how WWE has some of the whitest, hottest babyfaces in the industry, while AEW is struggling to find one to go against their top star mega-star heel. With Wrestlemania around the corner, Juice and Bill also pick BC Hunter's brain on what storylines he would like to see culminate at the showcase of the immortals.

It was a pleasure having BC join us this week for a discussion on professional wrestling. BC and his partner Jay are two of the finest podcasters you will find when it comes to thorough analysis and well-formulated opinions on wrestling. (Two things Bill and Juice have yet to figure out.)
