Top Democrats, including House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Rep. Robert Garcia, have accused President Trump of using the Department of Justice (DOJ) as a "personal vendetta force". These accusations, widely reported on October 11 and 12, 2025, follow a series of federal indictments against Trump's political opponents, most recently New York Attorney General Letitia James and former National Security Advisor John Bolton.
