Cleveland, Ohio
Not much has been written about his early life.
He joined the US army at the age of 17. He would serve for 4
years and is a graduate of the US Army Ranger School.
Before becoming a full time wrestler he did earn a bachelors
degree.
Satullo trained at Killer Kowalksi’s school starting around
1998 where he went under the ring name Saturn after the Roman god before later
tweaking it to Perry Saturn.
He made his in-ring debut on October 27th, 1990
in Waltham Massachusetts wresting for the United States Wrestling Association.
He also wrestled in Kowalksi’s International Wrestling
Federation as “The Iron Horeseman”
He eventually won the IWF lightweight championship.
Perry would go on to wrestle in independent promotions
throughout New England as well as touring with New Japan in 1993.
He would make his WWE debut as a jobber in 1992.
He would then start tagging with George Caiazzo after
meeting him while working together at a nightclub in Boston. Caiazzo would
wrestle under the name John Cronus, the Greek equivalent to Saturn.
Ciazzo wanted to be named “The Harvesters of Sorrow” as they
are botht he gods of the harvest but Jerry Lawler that name was too smart for
the average crowd and gave them the name The Elimiators.
The Eliminators worked their first match together for the
USWA in 1993.
On March 22, 1994 Perry Saturn would wrestle in a dark match
for a WWF Superstars Taping
They would win the Tag Team Championship on May 2, 1994,
holding it untl June 13.
The tag team managed to catch the eye of Paul Heyman and
were brought in to job to the Steiner Brothers in ECW.
They would sign on with ECW in 1995 and go on a run in the
tag team division.
They would hold the Tag Team belt 3 times between 1996 and
1997.
Around this time is when Saturn would be involved in a shoot
where he would get his hair cut and ended up shaving his head to be more like
Woody Harrelson’s character in Natural Born Killers, Mickey Knox. In reality he
was starting to go bald.
Satullo was a trainer in the ECW House of Hardcore, a
professional wrestling school at which Taz and Mikey Whipwreck also taught.
Saturn was respected for his focus and drive on fundamentals and technical
wrestling.
On May 31, 1997 in Trenton, New Jersey, Satullo tore his ACL
when he landed on a crutch while executing a kick on Big Dick Dudley.
He would return to action in August but did not want to
reform the eliminators sighting the work ethic of Caiazzo.
Heyman would offer him his release which he would take and
join WCW.
He debuted in WCW on September 8, facing Billy Kidman, but
was sidelined for a month afterwards as his knee had still not entirely healed.
Later that year, both Saturn and Kidman would go on to join Raven’s
Flock.
The enforcer of The Flock, Saturn would win gold on November
3, 1997 when he defeated Disco Inferno to win the World Television
Championship. He held the title for a month before losing it back to Inferno in
a rematch.
On September 13 at Fall Brawl, Saturn defeated Raven with
help from Kidman, disbanding The Flock forever
After the breakup of the Flock, He would go on to feud with
Chris Jericho. During this feud is when he would take on the goth appearance,
often wearing dresses to the ring with Manson’s beautiful people playing.
This gimmick would go on until March 14, 1999 when he would
lose a dog collar match to Jericho at Uncensored.
He would then once again begin teaming with the Raven and
they would go on to win the WCW World Tag Team Championship.
After Raven was injured, Saturn would lose the belts to Bam
Bam Bigelow and DDP when Chris Canyon, who replaced Raven, betrayed him.
He would then go on to team with Chris Beniot and would win
the titles back.
This would be the catalyst to form the revolution with Shane
