An off-duty police officer from the Capital Region fired multiple shots from his service weapon during a confrontation with a group of Black kids in the Adirondacks in early June. That's according to new reporting in the Albany Times-Union.
The officer, who is white, is not facing disciplinary or criminal charges following the incident in Elizabethtown. State police say they’ve closed their investigation into the case.
Emily Russell spoke with Times-Union reporter Robert Gavin who broke the story on Tuesday.
