Traditional Arts in Upstate New York opens a new exhibit, titled “St. Lawrence County Barn Quilts,” on Saturday in Canton. The exhibition features the varied painted wooden quilt squares, along with new related art works - some made of fabric, metal, stone and poetry. The barn quilt movement began about ten years ago in rural Ohio, and has grown to include dozens of communities in the North Country. Chances are you've seen the geometric squares on houses, barns, garages and other buildings.
TAUNY invites the community to the opening reception for the organization’s next major exhibition, "St. Lawrence County Barn Quilts,” on Saturday, February 29 from 1:00-3:00 pm at The TAUNY Center on Canton's Main Street.
Todd Moe stopped by TAUNY for a preview.
