The new bail reform law that went into effect on January 1 gets rid of cash bail for most non-violent crimes. It’s a big change for the state’s criminal justice system and it's gotten a lot of push back from Republicans and a growing number of Democrats.

A minor earthquake shook the southern Adirondacks over the weekend. The 1.8 magnitude quake hit near North Creek in Warren County around 10 p.m. Friday.
