Tonight, Jeremy and I will talk about how to successfully sustain a large group of survivors at a Woodland Bug-Out location during an SHTF event.

You’re thinking… ahh… it’s easy. Provide shelter… Hunt for Protein… Use your LifeStraw… No Worries.

And you may be right, if it were you and a couple of friends.

But, that’s not what I said. You didn’t hear correctly, or you weren’t paying attention.

I said, LARGE group of survivors. Cuz that’s the reality of it. Oh, your group may be 4… 6… maybe 8… maybe 10 Preppers strong… But that’s not the extent of it.

When you factor in Kids, Family, and Friends. Your numbers grow exponentially.

You got 4 members in your group… 4 turns into 10… 8 into 18… and 10 group members might as well be 30 or more.

That’s the reality of it. The math will happen whether you want it to or not. 

You can make all the Laws and By-Laws for your group that you wan.

When SHTF happens. really happens. so bad, that you had to Bug-Out.

Human Nature. Compassion. Instincts. mixed in with all that chaos.

Translates to. Nothing. Going As Planned.

So, As Preppers, Survivalist… as Moms and Dads... as good neighbors and good friends. We Must Plan, in advance for this chaotic Mess of an SHTF Bug-Out Scenario.

It just so happens, that we have someone here tonight with the experience and training to inform us of the realities of sustaining a large group of people in this type of scenario.

And when I say Experience, I mean it.

Jeremy just got back from the woods, where he was on assignment to help train students in the United States Army Special Forces in scenario-based war-games.

I don’t want to say any more about it, but I will say this…

These soldiers, contractors, operators… are the real deal. All those bad-ass men and women you see on movies and tv shows… this is where they become, bad-asses. 

Bugging Out, is tough. sustaining a large group of people in dangerous circumstances, is tough.

There's a lot to talk about.

RECIPE FOR HOMEMADE DRY LAUNDRY DETERGENT 

• 3 cups of each: baking soda, washing soda, borax
• 1-1/2 cups of epsom salt 
• 1/8 cup sea salt
• 15-20 drops of Essential oil for fragrance 

1. Mix well in a 5 gallon bucket or other large, air tight container. 
2. Use 2 tablespoons for regular loads, 3 tablespoons for heavy loads.
3. You can add 1/2 cup of white distilled vinegar to the washer if you have hard water, which will also help with strong odors.

There are lots of critters out there, many of which can be carrying dangerous, and sometimes deadly, infectious diseases. As Preppers and Survivalists,… Homesteaders and Hobby farmers… we tend to spend a lot of time in nature. We could be training for a bugout scenario, tending our raised beds and gardens, or just having a nice wall with the dog… these activities will often put us in direct contact with insects that want to take a bite of us… sometimes without us even knowing that we’ve been bitten.

Tonight, we’re discussing how we change-up our prep kits from winter to spring. The gear and preps that we keep in our kits during winter, are somewhat different from the items we keep in our packs for the Spring and Summer Seasons. Now, of coarse, this really does depend greatly on our geographical location. The farther North, or South,… we live from the equator… the more changes in our gear we’ll have to make. For instance,… if you live in Florida, South Texas, Mexico, or Southern California… Your kits may not change as much as let’s say… those of us living in the mid-west or the northern states, or Canada… And the same theory goes for Europe, and parts of Asia and Africa… and… the southern hemisphere… like most of South America, Southern Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. 

The more drastic your climate conditions change for each season, the more drastic your changes will be for your Preps and Kits.

If your location experiences seasonal affects like Wild Fires, Flooding, Hurricanes and tornados, Blizzards, High Winds, and Dust Storms… Well… you’ll need to gear up for those as well. And all though Earthquakes and Volcanoes are not affected by the changes in seasons… those of you living within these threat zones should be prepared for them as well.

And Yes… we have Volcanos in the US… If you asked most Americans how many active volcanos are located in the US,.. you’ll most likely get an answer like this… oh  5 to 10… maybe 15… Would they be correct…? No… Not even close… The USGS is currently monitoring 169 active volcanos in the US and it’s territories. And as far as Earthquakes are concerned… around 10K people dies each year in earthquakes.

Guys… it’s important to be prepared for the events that specifically affect you at your location, and how they change from season to season.

Deciding who to let in or who to keep out. These decisions are absolutely critical to the overall survival of its members. Or, what if one of the members has to be kicked out, expelled, or banished… or worse… taken down to the Dutton’s Train Station. Most of us, are not mentally equipped to deal with these types of challenging decisions and impossible choices. Am I…? Are You…?
