Also a male and female of all animals, birds, and everything that creeps on the earth, in addition to food. Chp. 7, Noach is also commanded to bring seven pairs of all kosher animals and birds. The rain began on the 17th of the second month, and continues for 40 days and nights. The waters lasted for 150 days. Chp. 8, the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat in the 7th month on the 17th day of the month. After almost 3 months he sent a raven to see whether the dry land had reappeared. He builds an alter and brings offerings to Hashem who promises him that he will not repeat what he had done to the earth again and that things will return back to normal.
