The moon had a complaint. Two kings, it said, cannot share one crown, so why do the sun and moon share the sky? G-d's answer was to shrink the moon down to size, and that seems to be the end of the story. Except the Talmud doesn't let it end there. It says G-d later admits to being at fault, and calls for an offering to atone for it.

An offering. For something G-d did.
