Host Ben Mulroney is joined by Louis Dimatopoulous, Testicular Cancer Survivor. Louis’ life took an unexpected turn when he was a father of two young children and was thrilled to learn that he and his wife were expecting their third child. However, just a week later, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Following surgery to remove the tumor, he was referred to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PM) for ongoing monitoring as a precautionary measure. During a routine follow-up appointment, Louis learned that his cancer had spread to his abdomen, bringing his diagnosis to Stage 2. He underwent daily radiation therapy at PM for two months, until his scans revealed the best possible news: No Evidence of Disease (NED).

Host Ben Mulroney is joined by Brandon Throop, Non-Hodgkin lymphoma Patient (a type of cancer that affects the lymph node system). He needed aggressive treatment at Princess Margaret, undergoing a 5-day program, 24 hours a day of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy, every 21 days for 6 rounds, lasting 5 months. Now in full remission, he’s rebuilding his strength and getting back into his active lifestyle. During treatment when wearing a hospital gown, he came up with a fundraising idea to set a Guinness World record for the fastest marathon run in a hospital gown. He missed the record by 4 minutes, but more importantly, he crossed the finish line and raised $121K for Princess Margaret.  

Host Ben Mulroney is joined by Adolphe Khouri, Testicular Cancer Survivor, Adolphe was diagnosed with Stage 3 testicular cancer in 2016. When he first felt symptoms, he initially thought they were related to his intense workout routine. However, after two years of persistent symptoms, Adolphe was diagnosed with testicular cancer that had spread to his abdomen and chest. Within 24 hours of receiving his diagnosis, he underwent life-saving surgery at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, followed by chemotherapy. Thanks to the world-class care he received, Adolphe is now cancer-free and has dedicated himself to giving back by raising awareness about men’s health and the importance of early detection.

Host ben Mulroney is joined by Dr. Matthew Kreher, Dentist, Department of Dental Oncology at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre where he provides care for cancer patients as a Staff Dentist. He is a University of Toronto Instructor, teaching fourth-year dental students on rotation at the hospital.
