I did not like or admire the characters enough to enjoy the book. On the positive side, the action and events were interesting enough that I didn't feel a need to speed read. Sexual content: mild.

This cover image is offensive; the original book had a "normal" cover. I am embarrassed to have anyone see this on my Kindle. What were the publishers thinking? The book itself is a typical Harlequin type novel with the usual happy ending & it's been one of my favorites over the years so I wanted it for my Kindle. I wish I could delete the cover & keep the book!
Fake Engagement Story
I recently read "Grand Hotel" and this was listed as the sequel. I thought I hadn't read it, so I bought and downloaded it. I then discovered I'd definitely read it and even remembered it. I went looking and discovered it was part of the "Marry me Maybe" bundle on KU. Usually, with a bundle I'll do a short summary of each story but I didn't in this case so I'm rectifying the matter now. Here the h is a very efficient executive secretary to the H. He's a total womaniser and never wants to marry. He wants to seal an important business deal and he insists that the h act as his fiancée. The h is quiet and efficient and doesn't approve of her bosses behaviour. She's the one who makes his dinner dates and sends flowers to his dates the next day. I wasn't sure how these two would ever get their hea but they do. The book is dated wrt to technology and the times. The premise wouldn't work today.
Good not Great
I love a good office romance. this one had it all. A little predictable and the ending seemed rushed. Its like all the sudden i quit dont go im sorry oh wait i love u. I didn't feel it. The h should of made the H pay for making her go threw all that.
Great book
Basically, this book is about a super secretay who'll do anything for her boss, personal feelings aside. When her boss ask her to pretend to be his fiancee to avoid getting set up with another girl, she really doesn't want to do it, but agrees anyway. She begins falling for him (of course), but fights her attraction, because she's sent to many flowers to to many women on "the morning after". She and her boss end up happily ever after anyway, in the fine tradition of Harlequins.
This is a basic feel-good book with all the classic elements. I enjoy it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a love story with a strong-minded heroine.
