In the opening chapters of 1 Corinthians, Paul addresses ongoing issues of conflict in the Corinthian church. In the flow of this part of the letter, he deals with various themes and complex ideas. Fortunately, in chapter four, he summarizes his main point with two big ideas. These big ideas were not only applicable then—they are also applicable now. Furthermore, as we embrace them, they can transform our relationships and our church community.
