Building a sustainable business often requires more grit than glitter. The reality is, success typically does not happen overnight. It takes much more than finding a magic method; it requires determination, creativity, and the strength to keep going even faced with obstacles.
This podcast episode provides you with a detailed insight into the elements required to stimulate and sustain success in an online business environment. Using the widely accepted "1000 True Fans" model by Kevin Kelly, we discuss how to build a business foundation that is both realistic and reflective of your goals.
Steps To Take Towards A Sustainable Online Business:
1. Quantifying Your Business: Use the concept of the "1000 True Fans" – if you have enough people paying you a hundred dollars in a calendar year, you can build a sustainable business.
2. Building Value: Try to figure out how you can provide $9 worth of value every month, which equates to $108 in a year. This will attract the people who are interested in what you have to offer.
3. Attraction: Use the workshop model to attract and engage your audience. It isn't about intelligence, articulation, or attractiveness; it's about resonance.
4. Sell What Satisfies: Produce solutions that your audience wants and needs. If the people you have aren't buying from you, they're not your people. Keep doing your workshop strategy and finding your people.
5. Consistent Content: Your communication - podcast, blog post, or video - needs to reach your people consistently.
6. Determining Your Number: You need to quantify this in your business - What's your number? The $100,000 per year might be your starting point, predicated on 1000 fans paying $100 per year. But adjust this number based on your own goals and desires.
To achieve all these steps, it is essential that you equip yourself with the tools and knowledge necessary to overcome any obstacles that may arise. This might mean investing in certain resources, attending conferences, or forming partnerships. The key is to remain adaptable and open to the process while staying committed to your ultimate goal.
In the end, your online business experience won't look exactly like anyone else's. Congratulations, that means you're part of the 99%. Keep going - your persistence is much closer to the reality of successful businesses than the instant-success stories of the 1%.
Once you've got these elements in place, the steady and consistent build towards success will become clearer and achievable.

In this podcast episode, I introduce a polished approach to creating standout content using the acronym "G.L.O.S.S.". Tune in as I break down each step to help you build an impactful online presence while traversing the country in your RV.
G - GENERATE Idea Options
The journey of content creation begins with deciding on your focal point. I share four quick ways to find content ideas including analyzing competitor's bullet points, sourcing magazine cover stories, exploring bookstore lists, and checking out ezine article subjects. Remember, this exercise is about sparking ideas, not copying content or structure.
L - Choose Your LAYOUT
Choose the most effective setup for your content. It could be a simple list, tutorial, or a series of questions and answers. The choice depends on what works best for your topic and audience.
O - ORGANIZE Your Points
Before fleshing out your content, arrange your ideas logically. Regardless of your chosen format, you should provide a clear foundation for your lesson.
S - SUPPORT With Relevant Details
This is the heart of your content. Expand on each of your points/sub-points with meaningful explanations. A helpful tip here is using a "starter swipe file", a collection of sentence templates filled in with your own content. Fill in the blanks, and voila, engaging content for your audience!
S - SHINE Your Content Up And Polish Ideas
Finally, refine your content until it's gleaming. Add in extra details where they're needed, play with fonts and colors to differentiate sections, and don't forget the final run-through for typos or grammatical errors. Your aim is to give your audience a clean, well-polished piece of thoughtfully crafted content.
Kicking off your online business while enjoying your RV lifestyle brings its own set of challenges. But when you know how to G.L.O.S.S., you can create compelling content that builds your brand - no matter where the road takes you.

Today I discuss a great business model for full-time RV travelers. It's great because you are providing quality products to customers, but you don't have to hold or process any inventory or ship any orders!
Now I'm no expert in this business model, so I brought on my good friend Fernando Sustaita to discuss the business model and some strategies to make it work.
Fernando is knocking down well over six figures a year with this business model so there's a lot to be learned from him!
