Disciples of Jesus desire to grow in Godliness regardless of how gifted you are. While people may be impressed by the talents of the gifted, it’s the teachable ones who continue to grow in God.

Christians can trust God with what we don’t know, and live according to what we do know through Scripture.

As long as The Lord has people to save, The Lord is with His people who serve.

Good things become idols when we turn them into ultimate things. Idolatry is relying on something to give you what only God can provide, but idols always overpromise and underdeliver.

We have more access to sermons and content than ever before, but as a society, we don’t take time to run what we listen to through the filter of Scripture. Faithful Christians receive preaching eagerly, but examine Scripture carefully.

When the gospel is introduced to those whose worldviews have been shaped by culture and marred by sin, it can feel like the world is being turned upside down. In reality is was sin that did the turning upside down. The work of the gospel brings order into what has disordered in the world.

In this concluding message in the “We Believe” series on the Nicene Creed, we talk about how The Holy Spirit is God. When we know the Holy Spirit as He is revealed in Scripture, we will be equipped to depend on Him more deeply.

Words matter. It’s important to know how to properly articulate what we believe because not everyone who talks about Jesus is talking about the Jesus revealed in Scripture. The goal of the Christian life is to know Christ rightly, so we will worship Him rightly.

If we’re not series about truth, we run the risk of falling prey to society’s buffet of deceptive options that cater to cultural decline and false assumptions about God. When we know God rightly, then we will stand for God boldly.
