You know that recent massive market sell-off?—The one that dropped over 1,000 points from the Dow in just 2 days? I was a reminder that –when it comes to the economy—we’re not out of the woods yet. And if Democrats win the mid-terms, we could get more shocks like we saw in early October.

The polarized politics of our day, the mob tactics, and the attacks on the President and his party have dominated the news.

I fear we’ve lost sight of the economic reasons to vote in November.

The tax cut passed last year and boosted every sector of the economy. Republicans want to pass another one which could extend those gains for years. Democrats want to repeal the last one.

Republicans want to unleash business; Democrats want to tighten the leash.

The election is on us: If you’re interested in a strong economy and a strong stock market, you need to vote for growth policies in November.

435 House and 33 Senate seats.  36 governorships.  6,665 state offices and tens of thousands of local ones.  And you ask what’s at stake in the 2018 elections? 

There’s more: important ballot measures like the gas tax in California, carbon emissions in Washington, Medicaid expansion and voting rights.

Beyond the direct effects of your vote lie other questions.  If we split the House and Senate, will anything be passed in the next two years?  Even though Donald Trump is not on the ballot, this election will largely be a referendum on his performance.

It’s embarrassing but, according to the Pew Research Center, voter turnout in the U.S. is only 26th out of 32 democratic countries. 

Isn’t there enough at stake for you to vote?  Believe me, this is not a year to be disengaged.  Turn out and do your part.

Something emerged from the recent Kavanaugh hearings which makes conservatives grateful. The conduct of the Democrats added clarity to voters.

For example: We now know the Left’s definition of “being mean.” It’s not mean to berate conservatives in restaurants, in front of elevators and in other public places. And it’s not mean to call a conservative judge a rapist without basis and to lampoon his pre-adolescent child in a political cartoon.

On the other hand, it is very mean to have questions about the credibility of a woman who has made a charge without corroboration.

We now also know the Left’s definition of justice: A conservative, male judge may not defend himself against unprovable allegations that will ruin his career, family and reputation.

And: Only liberal justices may make partisan statements and maintain their impartiality. 

Americans have been given an eye-opener as the November 6th election approaches.

In the last weeks before November’s crucial election, President Trump should make bold moves to address a looming crisis that most politicians prefer to ignore: soaring budget deficits and a crushing national debt.

A new group, OpenTheBooks.com, calls for a “War on Waste” to curb the outrageous spending, like squandering a million dollars to prepare religions for the discovery of extraterrestrial life, and another million for ex ed for prostitutes in California.

The best way to curb outrageous waste of taxpayer dollars is transparency. Open The Books suggests that President Trump immediately begin posting on-line every cent the White House spends, and order that every other federal department do the same. Then he can command that each federal department cut at least 5%.

These executive actions would provide major steps toward a leaner, more efficient, less costly federal government.

As President Trump’s first two years in office come to a close, we’ve seen two originalist justices confirmed to the Supreme Court, 26 originalist appeals court judges confirmed and 41 new district court judges on the bench-and dozens more pending.

Add to that: a massive military rebuild underway; a massive tax cut and a renegotiated trade deal between the U.S., Mexico and Canada.

That's just a fraction of his accomplishments, but it’s enough to have silenced the #NeverTrumpers and conservative critics.

Yes: Trump is as wearying today as Andrew Jackson must have been in 1829 to the people of both parties who are used to a different set of rules. I’m one of them—and my criticisms of the president are many and detailed. But my fear of the wild-eyed left is far greater than my discomfort with his bull-in-china shop politics.

The very unconventional Trump is succeeding. A lot of winning.

Back in 1964 Congress passed and LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act.

It was landmark legislation. It hastened the end of dark era of our nation’s history and secured equal access for blacks and women to public facilities and any place of public accommodation.

Title VII of that Act prohibited employment discrimination on the basis of, “race, color, religion, national origin, or sex.”

In our contemporary politics, there’s an effort to redefine and re-load what that word “sex” means. Is it something objective?—grounded in biological realties? Or is it simply what an individual says it is?

ADF—the Alliance Defending Freedom—is fighting a case in Michigan that could soon be before the nation’s highest court based on exactly this: Can we take away an objective grounds of “sex”—“male” and “female”—without an act of Congress?

The stakes in the law and in the culture couldn’t be higher.

Voting has begun in many places around the country. 

I believe a vote for any Democrat for any office is a tacit endorsement of the new McCarthyism directed at Judge Brett Kavanaugh in his ordeal before the Senate Judiciary Committee. It was classic McCarthyism—the use of a terrible crime proven in other circumstances to try and destroy an individual innocent of the charge. We know there are Weinsteins and Cosbys just as there were Rosenbergs and Alger Hiss when Tailgunner Joe McCarthy and Roy Cohn rampaged through the lives of innocent people in the ’50s. 

Now Diane Feinstein and Sheldon Whitehouse and Claire McCaskill and Joe Donnelly and 45 other Democrats have taken up the Roy Cohn mantle and the Joe McCarthy legacy.

Condemn it in the voting booth by refusing to vote for any Democrat for any office.

National security advisor John Bolton caused a stir by announcing that the U.S. would actively oppose an investigation by the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court into criminal acts by Americans in Afghanistan.  Bolton said sanctions against members of the Court might be applied.

The fact is that, though the ICC was formed as a court, it is primarily a political body. Its independent prosecutor—a kind of Ken Starr or Robert Mueller with international reach—regularly makes political decisions about prosecuting war crimes and crimes against humanity. The court makes an extraordinary claim of jurisdiction over citizens of nations such as the U.S. that do not join the court.

American service members are asked to keep the peace around the world and, besides risking harm and death, they do not need to risk criminal prosecution by a political court.

Bolton’s move ought to be applauded.
