Full text transcript

It’s upon a time. A bunch of teenage girls got stranded in the wilderness. And he hunted their friends. They sit on their flesh. And then went completely nuts.

Speaker

How? People are willing to do some mixed up stuff just to see.

Speaker 1

The other day.

Speaker 2

I think Natalie knows what each.

Speaker 3

Spot is does she deserve to people like?

Speaker 2

Do you believe?

Speaker

Her.

Speaker 1

Instead of doing what was right for us, she did what she wanted to do. So tonight we’ll give the wilderness what it wants.

Speaker

I’m worried about. What we’re gonna have to tell people if we get back. This place will follow us for the rest of our lives.

Jill

Someone wants us.

Speaker 2

Dad, don’t think for a second. I won’t get to the bottom of this.

Speaker 5

Are you hiding something?

Speaker 2

Think about how screwed up we would be if we have survived a plane crash only to end up eating each other.

Speaker 1

Oh, I do.

Speaker 5

The only people that know about this are either us or dead.

Speaker 1

The only way to truly be safe?

Speaker 6

Is to be the only one left.

Speaker

This is not healthy. You really are insane. Secrets. Will be spelled Yellow Jackets, new season streaming February.

Dion

That’s why. Yeah. That’s OK, miss. It was like, oh, you’re quiet. It’s like, you know what? We’re quiet because we had not. Crack the whip and I had forgotten I was all getting there tonight. Yes, we’re doing the TV roundup, which is great. The second part, Part 2 of the TV round up.

Quinny

Oh. Hang on with with the the TV TV roundup, Yes. Isn’t that when you meant? To do the.

Dion

Thing. Ohh yeah you there we go.

Quinny

Specifically, set it up for that.

Dion

Or maybe that’s? The beat E. Yeah, look, OK. And I and as I said earlier, we are also cracking the whip because tonight is a very special night because it’s ******* and or. And I haven’t watched it yet. Jill has chill ***.

Jill

Yeah, I got home early from the office today, so I was able to get stuck into it.

Dion

Yeah, so so you know for a good quick show is a good show, guys. OK, everyone, we all have yellow yellow jackets spread, you know. Well done. I’m really looking forward to seeing the the conclusion to the start of the Girl Guides in America daredevils back again. Check it, direct it. Let’s begin.

Speaker

*** **** it, Jill.

Quinny

Yeah.

Dion

And and and Or’s. Really good. I gotta keep. Gotta keep going anyway. Yep.

Quinny

So that’s it. That’s all we’re doing. There’s there’s no actual reviews you’ve just covered.

Dion

That’s that’s. Yeah, it’s just just go. Yeah, OK, it’s time.

Quinny

Everything. Even though you haven’t actually seen the last season of Yellow Jackets.

Dion

Just gonna be tapping. Tapping through. Hey, settle down. I had all intention, but then my Easter was not very TV friendly.

Quinny

Is there? Yeah. Oh, sorry. Sorry, sorry.

Dion

Right. But that’s OK, because I watched that trailer and I’m like, I like this. This is good. This is girls killing each other, taking shrooms, hanging out so many rooms hanging out in the forest. Why would you not like this show?

Quinny

Yes.

Dion

I kind of look at it like. I liked. Hannibal, remember that one this beautiful show, and I kind of look at this and go. This is just kind of Hannibal adjacent.

Quinny

MHM.

Jill

It’s yeah, Hannibal for teenage girls.

Quinny

Like. Yeah, the, the, the weird combination of of Hannibal and Clueless.

Speaker

Oh.

Jill

Ohh.

Speaker 9

Yeah.

Dion

Cluneal.

Quinny

Yeah. Yeah, on on. On Tuesdays we wear blood.

Dion

I could I kind of see how that?

Quinny

Could work. Honestly, what we wear skins. I’m not. Sure, finally I.

Jill

Mean it’s a Mean Girls quote. Not clueless, but anyway.

Dion

You know.

Jill

And it’s Wednesday. It’s not Tuesdays.

Quinny

Leaving.

Dion

Look, we’re all giddy with it.

Jill

Look, I didn’t know what the battle of. Yarin or yaban or whatever the **** it was. It’s called so.

Quinny

Killing.

Dion

You’re. You’re killing me, Jill. You’re killing. Me.

Speaker 10

Wait, wait, wait. So.

Dion

Yeah. Also, we may just have, so we’ll give at the end of the show, we’ll give our social reaction to Thunderbolts asterisks.

Quinny

Yes, because we saw that.

Dion

Would you, would you? Last night, which is why the shows on Wednesday night Tonight, which is why I’m trying to make. It really fast because I want to go and watch Andal, OK.

Quinny

We’ve picked up on that, so we haven’t. We talked about yellow jackets at all on the show before here, OK? At all. Well then.

Dion

We’ve talked, we’ve talked around.

Quinny

Right. OK. So I’m going to give you a real quick premise of it. This is something akin to a synopsis. I don’t know whether we’ve got music for that kind of thing, but whatever. And I’m not going to try and do it with an accent, because what, what accent is there for this?

Dion

Forest nymph.

Speaker 3

I was gonna say give. Us your best Melanie Lynn.

Jill

Quinny

Ohh, hang on melee Malinski is a child where it’s just like no kill them all.

Jill

No, her as her character from 2 1/2 men.

Quinny

Oh, this. This is yeah, yeah.

Dion

This is whiplashed hell.

Quinny

OK, so the premise of yellow jackets in 1990? 6A high. School girls soccer team from the fictional town of Whiskey York in New Jersey travels to Seattle for a national championship tournament while flying over Canada, their plane crashes deep in the wilderness and the surviving team members are left stranded for 19 months. In the series chronicles their attempts to stay alive as some of the team members. Are driven to. Just a bit of light cannibalism. It also focuses on the lives of the survivors 25 years later, in 2021, Slash onwards, as the events of the ordeal continue to affect them in many ways after their rescue. It’s. Ohh, what’s the the movie alive or the Society of the Snow? You know the one where the the the men’s soccer team got lost in the Andes.

Dion

Well, they had a plane crash in.

Speaker

Hello.

Quinny

The Andes. Well, yeah, sorry. Plane crash.

Dion

They they didn’t just go.

Speaker 3

In the Andes didn’t just go wander.

Dion

For a walk in the end.

Quinny

I mean, they were lost.

Dion

How many days was this like second hour? And they’re like we’re gonna. Need someone.

Quinny

So there there is a a movie on Netflix called the Society of the Snow, which is shot in the exact place where the plane was crashed and.

Dion

That. Is bad karma, man.

Quinny

It’s it is. Like the decision making process of how do we go from being? Well, we’re all here to that mix like meat to me. Yeah.

Dion

Is that the synopsis?

Quinny

That that is the that’s the synopsis. Yes, 2021.

Dion

Yeah. Yeah. Look. Yellow Jackets is a great cast because it actually has to have two casts because you get to have the modern day cast, which is full of great actors. And you also get to have the flashback cast, which is full of great actors.

Speaker

Hmm.

Dion

And it’s a really intriguing story and I love what they’re doing with it, and I enjoy Season 1 and 2. Yeah. I look forward to finally watching all of seasons and. I can binge it now.

Quinny

You can. Yeah, absolutely.

Jill

Yes.

Dion

And I’m super looking forward to seeing the feral horned chain male witch coven like thing running, which which sort of turns up a little bit of the first season. And you’re like. What the **** is that? And then it’s like, how do they get there? These are all just soccer players, and it’s making sense. It hasn’t gone completely off the rails because you’re kind of understanding this strange descent into cannibalistic tribal madness because it doesn’t make dumb decisions.

Speaker 5

Hmm.

Quinny

No.

Dion

Yamiche.

Jill

And you kind of think, oh, wow, they’re all so well adjusted in their present lives, but then but.

Speaker 3

From the days.

Quinny

Oh my God. Like, yeah, first season. You’re like, oh, they’re doing pretty well for people that have done a bit of, like cannibalism and. Stuff like that.

Speaker

Exactly.

Quinny

Second season, you’re like, oh, no, they’re probably a little bit. Yeah. I got through this third season and I finally realised, you know, I’m not entirely sure where in the season I went. Ohh Sean is actually the villain, right?

Jill

Yes, I was like, so on board with Shauna for, like, Season 1 and 2. And now season 3, I’m like, oh, she’s the most ****** **.

Quinny

Yep.

Jill

Of them all.

Quinny

Yes, I would. And like.

Jill

We all thought Ohh, what was the hippie dippy girl? What was?

Quinny

Ohh yeah look, there are a lot I.

Dion

Mean I I forgive you if you can’t remember.

Speaker 3

I can’t.

Quinny

Looking around. Not Courtney not live.

Jill

Like Charlotte or something.

Quinny

Yeah, Charlotte.

Jill

Charlotte. Yeah, Lottie. That’s it. Oh, my God. Yeah. We all thought that she was the nut bag, but I think she’s probably the one that had her head screwed on the the tightest. But yeah. And then.

Speaker 10

Yeah.

Jill

Christina Ricci’s character. Why? Have I just mind lagged all. Of a sudden misty.

Dion

Samantha Samantha hanretty.

Jill

Holy ****, misty. Misty is so. ******* annoying. So annoying, so annoying. And she does not stop being annoying.

Quinny

No, I kind of expected that. Maybe there was gonna be a thing of of character. Development. And growth and stuff like that. But like they, they made her more annoying and then they brought in.

Jill

No.

Quinny

Like some sort of guest stars to bounce off her that managed to make her more annoying.

Jill

Yeah. Are we talking about Elijah Wood?

Quinny

We are in. I mean, I feel.

Jill

Someone that matches her freak you feel?

Dion

I have all. I feel like the character. That Elijah Woods playing in this is actually what would happen in a modern day. Frodo does. That make sense like. You know, you sort of go and live with your rich uncle and you don’t have to worry about anything and you can just engage in your pursuits as you wish. And that’s kinda how Frodo would have ended up with the Trust fund. Yeah, yeah.

Quinny

Yeah. Aw, weird. Kind of chronically online ******* semi stalker.

Dion

Yeah, yeah. The one ring is the one ring is just the Internet. It’s it’s. Yeah. Anyway, yeah, that’s my theory. Did you guys, how much of season 3?

Speaker

Hmm.

Dion

You all watch.

Jill

Ohh I’ve seen.

Quinny

All of it. Great. All of it, yeah.

Speaker 5

Just just.

Dion

Just double checking and my question for this is am I gonna have a good time? Am I gonna enjoy season 3? I enjoyed season 1 and 2.

Jill

Yeah, I mean, you still have the intrigue and where the mystery is kind of still developing and we’re learning. Yeah, we’re learning more bits and pieces. I really thought that we’d like, get to a rescue in this season.

Dion

Still.

Speaker 10

Yeah.

Speaker

Hmm. But still.

Jill

Nothing.

Quinny

Apparently they they planned it out as a five year thing and I was like.

Jill

Oh.

Quinny

Really, that’s an awful lot of time to try and drag out the 19 months of being in the in the woods. But yeah, this season they threw in a few extra sort of more interesting things that like, you know, there are people who stumble across the.

Jill

Speaker

Hmm.

Jill

I don’t know how much longer we can be in that period because they’ve already seen two winters now, and if they’re only out there for 19 months, then they’re not going to see a third one. So it’s gotta be wrapping up soon.

Quinny

No, I don’t think there is.

Speaker 6

Hmm.

Quinny

Maybe Mike.

Dion

Maybe it just ramps up pretty heavily.

Quinny

Ohh yeah, I would imagine so, but also I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they were to do like. The you know the the 19 months of whatever in the woods and then show the first year of them being back in society.

Jill

My yeah, that could be interesting.

Quinny

Because, like there’s, there has to have been a lot of decision making as a survivor group to go. We’re never talking about this and this is the official story. Do not *******, you know, deviate and all that kind of stuff.

Jill

Hmm.

Quinny

So I could imagine that there’s probably enough to dig through there. And there’s always the question of is there something supernatural happening or are they just *******? Horrible, messy group of ******* loose weirdos, really.

Jill

It’s definitely the latter because I will tell you when I was 14 years old, I was making all sorts of woo woo. Shoot up as well. Who didn’t, with their group of girlfriends, all want to pretend to be witches? I mean the craft, the ******* craft said.

Quinny

Oh my God.

Jill

It’s on a path I mean.

Quinny

Has a lot to answer. For yeah, yeah.

Jill

Yeah, I would 100% be out.

Dion

But.

Jill

In those woods. Believing everything and doing my DIY I Oscar camp.

Dion

Guide but the other question is also but cannibalism like. Good. He also like, feel like this is an interesting show that he’s kind of like ohh yeah. And they did some cannibalism and. Was like, Oh yeah, OK.

Speaker

Hmm.

Jill

The one thing that I did not believe this season was the baby animal petting zoo. Yeah, like, excuse me, where do you get all these tame rabbits and baby deer and ducks from? Like, this is bonkers.

Quinny

Yeah, I was kind of like.

Dion

Yeah, just remember. Just remember the main through line of this season as I understand it, having not seen it is is that everyone’s kind of high on mush.

Jill

I believe that the whole past thing is.

Dion

So maybe. A fever dream.

Speaker 3

I don’t think any.

Jill

Of it’s real.

Dion

Right.

Quinny

But as in you you think that they didn’t kill anyone. They didn’t do anything.

Jill

Like that, I think that all of like, the witchy wooo stuff that we’re seeing is all, like embellishments. And just like what they think happened. But in reality, in reality, I don’t think any of this really happened like.

Quinny

Hmm.

Jill

They are. Showing us.

Quinny

They’re just projecting and you’ve got like, and I mean you’ve got a couple of characters who do have pretty serious mental health issues, like Tanisha, not Taisha.

Jill

Yeah.

Quinny

Sorry. Like she’s definitely got some pretty serious mental health stuff going on. She’s suffering from dissociative identity disorder like, and that’s the kind of thing that. Can seem kind of supernaturally. Powerful if you did, you know you’re literally disassociating, and somebody else is driving your body.

Jill

Yes. Yeah.

Quinny

So yeah, and it does that thing that I I was talking to somebody else about it the other day. How much I don’t particularly love it in, in movies and stuff where they have the the dead person returning to have a conversation with you.

Jill

Ohh yes.

Quinny

Never a big fan of that. I was just like I know.

Jill

It’s. Classic, yeah.

Quinny

It’s a trope, but you’ve.

Dion

Wow. You must have. You must have hide it.

Quinny

So Ella Purnell keeps getting. Jobs.

Dion

You must have. You must have. Hated Star Wars, then quinny.

Quinny

But that was like that wasn’t a ghost ghost. That was a forced ghost.

Dion

Ohh was it yeah.

Jill

Big difference, apparently huge.

Quinny

Yeah, absolutely. Cause one of them, that’s actually that is Obi 1 Kenobi. Wouldn’t it kind of around in some way as opposed to the other person’s imagined conversation with, unless Luke’s really ******?

Dion

Maybe this is what the force is. It’s like space ayahuasca. He thinks he can move stuff.

Quinny

Ben Tools, we lost the longer way.

Dion

He thinks he can move stuff with his mind. Just go along with it. Great. I’m looking forward to Yellow Jacket Season 3, so we’ll get around to it eventually.

Quinny

There’s some new cast that’s fun like we we lost. Louis. Yeah, which I was a I was very sad for cause. She was. I really enjoyed her.

Dion

Yeah, it was been a great. It’s a great cast on both sort of spectrums, which is.

Jill

I think.

Quinny

Hmm.

Jill

Great. Yeah. I think Natalie’s my favorite character. I I kind of follow her.

Quinny

Yeah.

Jill

The storyline.

Quinny

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And yeah, now we don’t have that. But you know, they bring in God. What’s the name? Punching 10,000 something, baby.

Jill

Ohh yeah, yeah, Hilary Swank.

Quinny

Hilary. That’s right.

Jill

I know I haven’t seen.

Dion

10,000 punching baby.

Jill

Her in a hot minute. Million, $1,000,000.

Quinny

No.

Dion

10,000 punching babies. Now the only way I shall refer to that film. It’s the official asylum release of 10,000 punching baby. It’s just just someone hitting a bunch of babies. Ohh God.

Jill

It’s like that house House of 1000.

Dion

Cool, cool.

Jill

I don’t know death of 1000 tiny cuts.

Quinny

Yeah. 996.

Dion

Ohh God. Yes, we can.

Speaker 6

Get over.

Dion

All do that and eventually we’ll get around to death of a sales force. When that company follows. Ohh dear. OK, that’s great. Yeah.

Quinny

It’s it’s good fun and I’m glad that they’ve got at least one more season in it.

Dion

I feel like we’ve wasted too much time on yellow jackets because it’s already about 8:00 and we haven’t even moved on to Daredevil yet.

Speaker

Alright.

Dion

So.

Jill

Fine, fine hits the next.

Dion

It’s time to go to Daredevil.

Jill

Trailer.

Dion

When I was a kid, I thought God had given me a special destiny.

Speaker 6

Like a mess. This kind of purpose. Could save me?

Speaker

My mistake was thinking I was immune to the darkness. It’s hard to come to terms with the violent nature. Tough guy, huh? Not at all.

Speaker 5

It’s done to embrace your true soul.

Dion

Wow, that was fun. And duck and Moody. And finally we’ve got Daredevil season 1431.

Jill

Dion

Look, I have just like I literally just finished watching Daredevil born again finale. So I’ve seen it all now I can officially say that. Yeah, stranger. The the last two TV series that we were talking about tonight have a lot of themes about rebellion against authoritative state.

Quinny

Rebel. Resist. Yeah.

Speaker 9

Umm.

Dion

Gotta admit, maybe should pay more attention to some of the Netflix daredevil show.

Speaker 10

Because I got.

Dion

A little bit lost in some of the people. That came back, and I’m like, who’s that person? Oh. Oh, that is a bullseye. OK, I forgot. Bullseye.

Jill

No.

Speaker 3

You got bullseye.

Jill

He was like the last ******* villain in the last season, like the whole thing end.

Dion

I just I had.

Speaker 3

Did with like the ambiguity of like?

Jill

Him still being around.

Dion

Hmm, I’m. I just gotta admit, like the original Daredevil TV show, it I agree with something that Quinny said earlier today, which was it came out with like the Defenders and Iron Fist, and there was just a lot of television and I perhaps didn’t pay enough attention to dead Evil Season 3. And then I came to born again, and I was like.

Speaker 10

I was totally.

Dion

Wait, what?

Quinny

Like I was totally on board for seasons one and two of Daredevil, and then I can’t remember where the defenders happened in relation to season 3, but I know I wasn’t as tightly invested in season 3, so I remembered. Some of the stuff about Bullseye, but wasn’t as clear on on the sort of through line of that last season. And to be honest. Offenders kind of left a bit of a ship, you know, taste in the mouth. It didn’t work particularly well. And so, yeah, I don’t know. It didn’t something about that last season just didn’t grab me. However, ******* love this.

Jill

When I started this one, I was like, oh, it’s it’s been given the Disney. Treatment like it didn’t feel as gritty and lived in as the Netflix series to me, even though it’s got like all the same showrunners and creatives like. On it it just. I don’t. There was something about it that just. Smelled a bit different, but there was some really clever stuff that they did with that that I appreciated in the cinematography and it was like a lot to do with the changes of the aspect ratio when we’re seeing Matt use his powers. And I thought that stuff was kind of cool. Like when he’s listening for something the screen like got really narrow and then when we were like. Getting the rest of the room. Then it would go back to like the the full depth, that kind of stuff I thought was was really cool kind of effect.

Quinny

Yeah.

Dion

Still using a lot of cinematic language in making things look rather than doing the you know Ben Affleck Daredevil where it just goes into sonar mode.

Quinny

Hmm. It’s it’s a series that had some pretty rocky production. So and and when now you can see the whole season, you kind of can see where the where things like butted up against each other and stuff. So the first episode. And the last two episodes were the things that were produced essentially entirely in reshoot.

Jill

OK, that makes so much sense, because the first episode I’m like, uh, I’m not digging.

Quinny

Because so initially they’ve gone off in a particular direction, and that direction was everything from episodes 2 to 6 or whatever it was, which was the white Tiger storyline, the.

Jill

Yeah.

Quinny

Muse storyline. And you know you can tell because there’s no Karen. There’s no, there’s not much talk of foggy in there. You know, there’s no references to Punisher and stuff like that. You know, you it’s a lot more Disney. You know. There’s Kamala Khan being mentioned. All that kind of stuff.

Jill

Yeah. Yeah, that bank episode was another one that really stunk of the the wink nudge that. I kind of really hated.

Dion

Yeah, we’ve got it’s, it’s the Marvel Universe. So we have to at least acknowledge some other property that is related. Of this. In a way that is like offensively shoehorned.

Quinny

Hmm.

Jill

Yeah, but the way that episode kind of ended as well there was there was just a moment that I was like, ick, hated that.

Quinny

Yeah. Yeah, it there were. There were a few of those moments in there that I was like Wolf. Jesus. Yeah.

Jill

It was. It was the the hiding. The jewel in the candy dish thing, that really just ******* made me want to vomit. I’m like, what are we doing here?

Dion

Yeah.

Speaker 10

But at least.

Quinny

It felt very friendly, but at least we.

Jill

Yeah, it was way too comic Booky.

Dion

But at least we got the my favorite supervillain Muse.

Jill

OK, tell me. Tell me why.

Quinny

Yeah. Tell me more.

Dion

OK, I’m being facetious. I didn’t like that at all. I didn’t I I did not.

Jill

Who you dear care?

Dion

I did not get for that. I quite enjoyed the opening thing with Bullseye, like once I figured out that it was Bullseye and I was like, wait that guy and then I liked the, you know, kind of fights later. Like, that was kind of where it got me, like the first and the starting the finish of the season were really kind of great for.

Speaker

Hmm.

Dion

That stuff and the middle. Yeah, felt kind of a bit disjointed and a bit kind of dull, really, because what I want to see, I want to see if I can. Matt Murdoch, you know, fighting crime at night by punching people in the spine and then going into the courtroom and, you know, defending the little guy that’s.

Speaker 10

What it’s all.

Quinny

About there was some *******. Vicious like. Even even though those middle 5 episodes or whatever are. You know, not as you know, they don’t feel as much like the daredevil that we’ve had.

Jill

Yeah. Well, I mean, there is no daredevil.

Quinny

No. Well, that and that’s really it, isn’t it? It’s like he’s not putting on the zoo, but there were still a couple of fights there that I was like, holy ******* ****. Like the one with the the bad cops in the in the the apartment that I was like Jesus Christ.

Jill

He’s not putting on the suit. Yeah. Yeah.

Quinny

And that’s something that I was pleasantly surprised by, that this show for, for a Disney, you know, Marvel thing was not shying away for. Some from some pretty *******.

Dion

It then heavily into the Netflix Punisher Daredevil kind of vibe, which I think you’re right, Jill, saying earlier it’s like hey.

Speaker 6

Hmm.

Dion

You know, this is we want to take that gritty aspect and pull it, pull it. Through you. But it was a little. Bit surprising, a little bit more violent than I remember you. Know some of. The other ones that I was just like ohh, OK. And that’s also right, yes. The Punisher is a is a psychopath and should always be portrayed as a psychopath and was a psychopath and like. OK.

Jill

But I did like. That they addressed the issue that we saw in real life where police were like Co opting that Punisher symbol.

Dion

And I still do. It was.

Quinny

That.

Jill

Yeah, I know. They still do, but it’s like.

Quinny

Yeah, I I loved that scene. I think it’s in the last episode where he, you know, he’s been captured by a bunch of cops and is literally said you guys are ******* clowns. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I and that to me was very, very much Marvel slash, whatever saying you don’t understand this symbol. Hmm. Stop ******* wearing it. Like and I’m I’m hoping a few more people. You got that? But I gotta say I was OK. I enjoyed myself through most of the season the last couple of episodes I was like. Holy ******* ****. Just because it felt like and also the first episode to a degree like that, that first episode where. Fisk gets voted in as mayor.

Speaker

MHM.

Quinny

I think I, like everybody else, felt like, oh, ****. This is like what it was after Trump. Won the election and then you get to the last couple of episodes and you’re like ohh, and this is what it’s like now. Trump’s running the *******.

Dion

Show, except this was written.

Quinny

2 ******* years ago, which blows my mind.

Speaker

Yeah.

Jill

Yeah, but it came from the new kingpin story. Online and the comics, it’s decades old anyway.

Quinny

Yeah, absolutely. And as I I pointed out to somebody on one of those ******* search for many things I was like, yes, it was written two years ago. And you know why? Because they wrote kingpin like a ******* villain. And it just so happens that you’re president is acting like a *******. Comic book villain. Yeah. Anyway, that means I’m not getting into America for at least for the next, I don’t know.

Jill

Yeah, our Twitch stream has been.

Quinny

Flagged. Yeah. Well, there you go.

Dion

**** happens. Yes. Yeah. Look, apart from all of that. And like those things. I quite I love seeing everyone return. I didn’t really understand the Bulls. I think that’s on me.

Speaker 5

Yeah.

Dion

I get that I like seeing, you know, Punisher turn up and. I just want to see more of Daredevil. Do do do I feel?

Jill

Yeah.

Dion

I feel it was a. Little bit too, kingpin heavy.

Quinny

Yeah, yeah.

Dion

And I feel. That’s why they got D’onofrio back, because it’s like, oh, this show is about me and it’s like kind of, it’s not really about you. It’s more about Daredevil. But I mean, sure, if you want to come in, I’m glad you came back. You’re giving it all. It’s worth I just don’t really.

Speaker 3

Yeah, but the.

Jill

Thing with Daredevil is, though, he’s a localised hero, and so all of like his storylines are have to be localised as well. So that’s why we have to focus so heavily on just.

Dion

Ohh yeah yeah no.

Jill

You know, city and the kingpin and that kind of stuff.

Dion

No.

Jill

He’s not.

Quinny

Umm.

Jill

Doing the big ****.

Dion

I just felt there was too, like a a lot of exposition running at like at Kingpin and his motivations. And I’m like, no, I quite get that he’s a he’s he’s a a terrible sociopath masquerading as a as a responsible citizen to to take power. And I was like, OK, I got that. I just want to see more Daredevil. Where’s the red guy in the suit flying around?

Speaker

And.

Jill

Yeah, I did enjoy seeing the characters that are surrounding kingpin now, like his, his. The people in his office and like that political kind of intrigue and stuff like the, the, the intern that leveled up.

Quinny

Hmm.

Speaker 10

Yeah.

Jill

Like like crazy.

Quinny

You know white privilege, the the, the man child.

Jill

Yeah, exactly. The Don Junior and yeah, good.

Quinny

Yeah, I I like those. I.

Speaker

Your.

Quinny

I really kind of enjoyed because I do find I like. I like watching Donofrio. I really enjoyed watching from the beginning of the season of him. In some ways, because he’s also just gone through all that weird **** in echo.

Speaker 10

Yeah.

Quinny

Him actually.

Dion

Forgot about.

Quinny

That. Yeah. Yeah. You know him going from being perhaps trying to be a better person to. Realizing that he can’t stop being him. And all of the people around him, you know, when the police chief says to him like, you’re always gonna be the ******* kingpin. It doesn’t matter what you say. You can see him. Go ****. I I’m trying to be something other than I am. And that to me, is what the whole series is about. Is 2 men trying? To be something other than what they are.

Jill

Yeah, but at the core, they can’t deny who they are like.

Speaker 10

Hmm.

Jill

Kingpin is a guy who still has a piece of art on his wall that is the blood splatter from his father’s brain. Like, yeah, this is the ****** ** guy.

Quinny

Yeah. And Vanessa?

Speaker

Vanessa.

Jill

Oh my God.

Dion

What did you say that name?

Jill

The voice voice.

Speaker 10

I was.

Quinny

I was amazed that that actually shot the entire series and then went back and then went. No, we can’t do this with that without the actor, for Vanessa. So they went and re shot all of her ****.

Jill

Are you kidding me?

Quinny

I am not kidding. They had a different actor playing Vanessa.

Speaker 1

Oh wow.

Quinny

And then they went and went. Actually, no, it doesn’t work because if you bring in the original foggy and the original, Karen and the Punisher, you can’t just change Vanessa. ‘S.

Dion

So yeah, tell that to most producers in Hollywood for the last 30 years. Quinny. Yeah.

Quinny

Yeah. Well, yeah, yeah.

Dion

The whole new world of of Disney backed Marvel. Bennigan’s.

Quinny

Had a moment of panic in that first episode because there was one really hinky ******* piece of CGI. Like it’s a cool shot where Daredevil swings down onto a fire escape with these little called Billy clubs and everything. And I was like ohh that’s. Really cute. Oh, that’s. Not good CGI, and I thought, oh.

Speaker

No.

Quinny

Oh no.

Dion

Was, but there wasn’t a scene of him taking out the Billy clubs and climbing up a wall like. Stupid. Remember, it’s not that bad. It’s not that bad. Yeah. So yeah. Look, Daredevil born again. Is it? Is it born again in your watching list?

Quinny

For a very good reason.

Speaker

I mean.

Jill

Yeah, by the time I got to the end, I watched the last episode. I’m like, damn, can’t wait for the next. 1. Yeah, I’m like. Ohh, that was the last episode. Ohh ****.

Dion

But thankfully, it’s it’s been renewed.

Quinny

And the good thing is.

Speaker

Good.

Quinny

It’s been renewed, but also the next season is is entirely made by the people who did the first and last episodes, right? So we don’t have that whole. You know, kind of uneven thing. OK, let’s hope you know. And realistically, they’re the original showrunners of the Netflix show, so they’re they’re getting to make their show again.

Dion

And just remember, like hopefully they’ll be able to, you know, by the time it comes out next year, they’ll be able to put a lot of new people in to be able to get, you know, vertical integration of all the other Marvel. New Yorker J.

Quinny

Well, you. Said at the end I’m gonna need an army.

Dion

Waka waka waka, I mean and friendly, a friendly. You’ve got. A friend of.

Quinny

Course made. Everybody going. Ohh. We’re gonna get Jessica Jones, and we’re gonna get Power, man and stuff and. I was like ohh. Please no more Danny Rand, no.

Dion

Where’s your friendly neighborhood Spiderman?

Quinny

I did read about this. Apparently Spiderman is legally not allowed to appear in TV.

Dion

Oh.

Quinny

And the and the Kingpin isn’t not allowed to legally appear in the films. So at no point in time are we ever gonna get Spiderman versus the kingpin. Yeah, whatever ******* reason.

Dion

********.

Jill

Ohh, get the young Avengers in.

Dion

Yes. Young Avengers. Yes, exactly. Get the younger ages get get.

Quinny

Well, we’ve got so many characters now.

Dion

**** it. Just just just throw a ******* curveball and introduce the X-Men in season 2 of Daredevil.

Jill

That’s a power move.

Quinny

Well, come on, come on. Technically is a mutant, Sir.

Dion

It’s a power move.

Jill

That is true.

Dion

Ohh come on.

Quinny

And we you know what her dad says about her.

Dion

Course right, because I. Watched the ******* season. True. Go to the next.

Quinny

Thing. Yeah. Yes. Came with you to be part of something.

Speaker 5

Yes.

Dion

The Empire cannot win.

Speaker 2

So kind of mission.

Quinny

If it goes up in flames, it will burn.

Speaker 6

Larry brightly. But if I’m giving up everything I want to win. We have to. We must stand together. We will be crushed.

Speaker

Resistance is absurd. It’s a weapon. They’re building a weapon. The monster will come for us all.

Quinny

Evolution is not for the saying.

Speaker

You’re right here and you’re ready to fight. There’s a future here for those who dare.

Quinny

Welcome to the rebellion.

Dion

Thank you. Just happen to say Monday. OK, OK. And or season 2, we’ve been waiting for this a little while.

Quinny

Unlimited mender.

Dion

So far, thankfully.

Jill

Mender leading the meeting with corporate.

Quinny

Yeah. So so quick, David, so fully catered get the people from optics in we’re good.

Jill

Get those guys from optics down here.

Dion

I love it. I was talking. Good. Thankfully there only been 3 episodes of Andor that have been out currently that. We could discuss.

Jill

Are you sure that’s all they want? Sure.

Quinny

Oh, do I have to? Do we have to put our fingers in our ears and you? Can talk about. Episodes 4:00 and 5:00.

Dion

Jill

Yeah, I’ve only seen four and five after this I’ve gone.

Dion

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Look, you know, after the first season of Andrew came out and everyone.

Speaker

But.

Dion

Went holy ****. That’s ******* awesome. It has literally been the only thing people have been concerned about it when an announcement has come out of Star Wars was like, oh, we’re gonna release episode 3, Revenge of the Sith because they’re blah blah and.

Jill

That’s ******* good.

Speaker

2nd.

Quinny

Yeah, cool. Great. Anyway, about that next episode.

Jill

When’s andel?

Quinny

Yeah.

Dion

Although if you did see, did you see the box office report of Revenge of the? Sith did really. Well, didn’t you did $45 million? In the opening weekend.

Jill

Wow, that’s.

Dion

Which is bigger than some, you know.

Quinny

That’s that’s like right up there with sinners last week.

Dion

Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So it’s everyone’s just kind of like, ohh, right. It’s like, yeah, Star Wars has bank. It can do. It. But you know what does even better. Bank is ******* and or season. 2. Yeah, I’m with that. I’m down with it. I go there the whole way. The first 3 episodes that came out last week were amazing and had a lovely time. And now, Jill, easy, frustrating to watch the **** out of this and or TV show. And go **** all those costumes are amazing and how difficult would they be? To recreate as the cosplay.

Quinny

Oh my God.

Dion

Or is it just? Is it just not inspo?

Jill

I’m not looking at the costumes.

Dion

I know the. Political intrigue is way more engaging it. It takes you away.

Speaker

It.

Quinny

From it, holy ****, yes.

Jill

Kind of is honestly like that. This is the kind of stuff that I’m just like eating up. Like when I saw the trailer for end of Season 1, I’m like ohh this looks like it’s gonna be interesting. Cause yes, I love Star Wars and I’ve gotten into Star Wars more in the last five years. Thank you, COVID.

Speaker

Right.

Jill

For letting me like, completely binge all of Clone Wars because that like. The law, if you want me to get into something, tell me the ******* law and I will get into that ****. It’s Lord of the Rings. Sorry, can’t.

Quinny

Hmm.

Jill

Do that one. And I could.

Quinny

You don’t want to hear about Rivendell of somebody, some, some.

Jill

So hard into Star Wars and I like all the action stuff. All that stuff’s really fun, but then when you tell me that there’s, like this, OK, here’s the whole political system, though, and all the INS and outs of the the empire and like. Like the the Senate and stuff trying to stop the the empire from getting too much control. And it’s like, ohh what’s that like? And I’m like, OK, this is probably the most boring part of Star Wars, but I am eating it. Ah, I loved season 1. So good. And so yeah give.

Dion

Did you?

Speaker 10

What?

Jill

Me more of that.

Quinny

I love that you know the beginning of episode 1. You know, way back when started with possibly the most boring crawl of all, saying that there’s a trade dispute over taxation of space lanes and now all of America understands what tariffs are.

Speaker 3

That’s all I want to.

Speaker 5

Know.

Speaker 3

Exactly.

Quinny

Yeah. And suddenly it’s actually applicable and now and or is like, hey, you know fascist states.

Speaker 3

Yes.

Quinny

So that’s it’s applicable.

Speaker 3

Talk to me about how.

Jill

Controlling a planet that only exports fabric is going to stop the rebels.

Quinny

Like the whole Goldman thing, I was like, where is this going at? But I trust them. I trust them to tell me a really ******* interesting story.

Dion

But I mean this is this is the thing that I really like about it because it presents stuff that is like kind of mildly interesting. But I love the way they’re presenting the empire in this because it is the banality of evil.

Speaker

Hmm.

Dion

And this is the thing I’m loving about. Andor, you know the stuff that we get from the empire is giant ships, big white armies, all this kind of stuff, you know? Decimation. No. What Andre is showing you is when it comes down to the ******* bureaucracy and how people live day-to-day under the empire, it is the IT. Well, it sounds boring. This **** has such consequences for people who are alive. But. In that universe.

Quinny

And also most of the people that are alive in Carson, wherever it doesn’t. Necessarily impact them day-to-day until they **** up against the edge of it, and that’s that’s what fascism is. It. Yeah. The trains ran on time until I was slightly too late getting on the train. And then I was arrested and flown to ******* El.

Dion

Nice.

Quinny

Salvador, you know.

Speaker

No, exactly.

Quinny

And and they made made me build a super weapon that was gonna ******* kill me in. The end.

Jill

Yeah. I mean, is it a coincidence that this season they’re talking about having visas?

Quinny

Yeah, yeah, not change codes.

Dion

Yeah, yeah. I mean, we got a.

Jill

And likes.

Dion

Little bit of that last last season when you know and or was just you know arrested on spurious charges, shipped off to a prison planet. You know, and had to break out because as of of a case of not even mistaken identity, just like we need people.

Speaker

Yeah.

Quinny

I remember watching that and feeling so angry as I watched it because it felt so ridiculously unfair that, you know, this guy who had gotten away with an amazing theft and, you know, people had died and there was all of this loss and pain and. You know, he was doing all this **** and finally he just takes a break. Goes to the beach planet.

Jill

But that’s when it all came.

Quinny

Undone and it all comes undone because he just happens to be walking to the wrong place and some petty little **** decides I’m going to, you know, I’m going to say, oh, but you were, you were running.

Dion

At the wrong time. Yeah, I’m just going to make up a charge to reach my quota. And then they’re gonna go. I’m just following orders. Ohh. Look, all of this stuff is coming 0. OK, 1-2 and three episode like seasons. How did we go with them? I really enjoyed the first, so it’s kind of three. Distinct parts. It’s the what’s happening in the empire through the ISV. What’s happening with Monmouth on Chandrila and then what’s happening to and or in his buddies? I really like. The bits I like about that was I love. I’m I’m I don’t know why, but I’m absolutely loving watching Monmouth’s internal structural collapse of her psyche and. It’s so horrible.

Quinny

I never knew I would care so much about her.

Dion

I mean, it’s just, it’s just like I love watching it because you know that inside she is just being destroyed. But outside it’s just this blank sort of face and that matches so well to that later Monmouth that we see, which is like, this is a haunted woman. How did.

Speaker

Yeah.

Speaker 3

This.

Jill

She get so haunted. Yeah. This is a woman who is going through.

Speaker

It.

Jill

Like, yeah, she’s having to deal with her marriage falling apart, her daughter marrying another family, and the the kids. A piece of she.

Quinny

And the family is a crime family.

Speaker 3

Now.

Speaker 10

Yeah. And then.

Jill

Also having to deal with trying to get her bills passed in the Senate and stop the empire from like seizing too much control of the Galaxy and.

Quinny

Funneling money into a rebellion.

Jill

Oh my God. How does she keep so many plates spinning? She’s a woman.

Quinny

And and also trying to keep, you know a little bit of the heat off her ex. Lover who is funding always.

Speaker 3

That’s.

Jill

Maybe going very badly right now.

Speaker 10

I mean. Little bit, maybe talk.

Dion

Talk. Yeah. Talk about the the the tragedy and the horror of this. One of the things you know was in the second episode of the third episode where her husband, you know, basically just goes. I always thought you were ******* someone someone else. And I don’t really care. And it was just like.

Speaker 6

Hmm.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it’s like.

Jill

How’s it going with your with your lover over there?

Dion

Yeah. And you’re just kind of going. Her entire world is crumbling while she’s trying to stave off the destruction of the Galaxy at her own personal story is all all funked.

Speaker

Yeah.

Speaker 5

Hmm.

Speaker

Up.

Dion

But yes, yeah. And I totally get that like there was that beautiful scene, a lot of I’ve seen some people sort of going. I don’t understand why it was Mon Mothma dancing. You know she’s. Doing all this stuff and it’s. Like, oh, she’s having a breakdown.

Jill

She just had to. Yep, that is 100%. What a mental breakdown looks like. I’m just going to get plastered and dance especially.

Speaker 10

Yeah, it’s the.

Quinny

Only thing after her daughter says you know her, her daughter says. I wish you were drunk. Like she literally says to her daughter. I I can let you go. I can get you out of here. I can not save you from all of this. And the daughters like **** you.

Dion

We can get we. Do this. Yeah.

Quinny

Yeah. Oh.

Dion

I mean, that’s the Mon Mothma story, and that’s only just part of it, because there’s so many other things as well. Like, I mean, quinny, you had raised that the point which I think was interesting about the episode when they’re on as we find out Yavin and Yavin is the planet Jill, that the rebellion is on in episode 4.

Jill

Yeah.

Speaker

Ohh I’m gone.

Dion

Four, and it’s like it’s the fourth moon of Yavin because Yavin is the gas giant and in episode 4 it’s called the Battle of Yavin. The first Death Star, which is what the code is.

Speaker

Thank you.

Dion

On the front.

Quinny

BBY, and admittedly, when that when that popped up on the screen, I thought that’s probably a little bit for can obscure for the average viewer.

Jill

Yeah, I didn’t. Know what? Was.

Dion

There’s a big, big, black yodas. Yeah, big black yodas. Yes, I love baby one.

Speaker 3

I’m like, listen, you joined. Tell me. Tell me more about Biggie Y-3. I love him. I love baby Y-3.

Dion

So to take to take that back to what quinny I think you had mentioned is like watching the two like him go back with with the stop.

Speaker 5

Yeah.

Dion

And ship and find out that there’s like other people and he’s sort of sitting there going. Wait, we’re all on the same side. Why are you fighting each other? Was a great metaphor for what is considered the the problem with left politics.

Jill

Oh my God, that **** show of running into like a little rebel branch that don’t know whether they’re Arthur. Or Martha was just it was.

Dion

Because they couldn’t figure out who was in charge, the more important thing was, like, no, who’s in charge? We need to figure out who’s in. Charge and and.

Quinny

I’m wearing the pants, so I’m going to.

Dion

Then there’s like and and then like.

Speaker 3

Be in charge. Yeah. Ohh let’s.

Speaker 10

We’re all the same side.

Jill

Kill each other about it.

Quinny

And I I loved it. And I’ve had a couple of people going saying, oh, I think that was a boring sort of Side Story and it went nowhere. I’m like, but. That that is. That is why the empire controls the universe and the rebellions, you know, struggle to get moving because there’s infighting, there’s there’s factionalism. And at one point, you know, you’ve got and or who has literally stolen a ship and it’s a prototype. Ship and they are pulling it with ropes inch by inch to shoot each other with it. And you’re like, how ******* stupid are?

Jill

Yeah.

Speaker

Thank you.

Quinny

Yeah, and.

Jill

I did enjoy him watching, trying to pilot a ship that was so.

Quinny

Yes, but he had no idea.

Jill

Foreign.

Quinny

How to fly?

Speaker

Yeah.

Dion

I love the bit in the first episode with the the officially called Range troopers with the Big Furry one that was wearing all that stuff. Just. Yeah, it’s like someone put up thinking you think you’re having a bad day at work from the guy who missed.

Speaker

Dion

That point blank range with a rocket. Launcher it’s just like.

Quinny

**** away.

Speaker

Ah, that’s a good ****.

Dion

And then what was the other one? And then and we’ve got like, you know, Big Flash Daddy and Mommy.

Speaker 3

Ohh yes, Cyril and Daedra the power couple.

Quinny

Oh my God.

Dion

And also the rest. Of the banality of the empire that goes on with it, with Mando, Daddy, Mando. But yeah, yeah.

Jill

Yeah, I love that meeting. I’m like, oh, we’re gonna talk about uniforms. We like getting, like, talking about new fabrics. We’re gonna see some swatches, like, no.

Dion

We’re we’re gonna crush this planet that has a really spectacular resource. And here’s the way we do it by making them the bad guy.

Quinny

Yeah. Yeah, it’s almost like the taking a playbook of of, you know, American foreign policy.

Jill

And what are more slow shots in that? Meeting. That’s yeah.

Quinny

Yeah, though I did love how completely ******* oblivious to the world marketing was. Sorry, optics.

Speaker

Optics, yes. Yeah.

Quinny

Yeah. No, we’re really excited about this. I just wanted them to have a. Slide deck, yes.

Dion

I mean, I feel I feel Harris cause like on the ABC there is that show. Optics.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it was very much that.

Dion

Which is about marketing. And I feel like all those actors should have actually stuck their hand up and go. I can I be in that optics team? In and or because that would have been. Sure.

Quinny

One other group of characters we haven’t mentioned is also BIX and the the the people on. I’m not sure the name of the planet but the the farming planet that’s that was an interesting story and one that had something that made a lot of people.

Speaker

Yeah.

Quinny

Very, very angry.

Dion

Ohh, make some people angry. Good.

Speaker 5

That’s.

Speaker

But.

Quinny

Yeah, I’ve seen a lot of commentary about the fact that this it’s a lot of people going. Why do we need to have sexual? Assault in Star Wars. You know that’s unrealistic. And I was like.

Jill

Unrealistic.

Quinny

************, please.

Jill

It’s real. It’s part of life. There are like people out there that are so depraved that they would do something like that and like.

Quinny

Mm-hmm.

Dion

You trying to.

Jill

I mean, you have a, a villainous organization like the Empire, and you don’t think it’s filled.

Quinny

With rapists? Yeah, it is. It is a a standard tactic tactic of fascist dictatorships. That sexual assault is is a part of their playbook. You know, is it? Yes, absolutely. Is it part of what happens?

Speaker

Yeah.

Speaker 5

Yes.

Quinny

I think the Nazis were just **** because they they shipped people to concentration camps. No.

Dion

It’s like ohh no. It’s like yeah, this is like the real. This is adult Star Wars. We’re adult things happen.

Jill

Yeah. If you don’t think Nazis were sexually assaulting Jewish people, then you need to get. Your head checked.

Quinny

Absolutely. And but so many people got so upset by the use of the fact that the the they used. The word rape and I was like Jesus Christ.

Speaker 3

What’s wrong with people? Yeah, it is what it is.

Jill

We’re pointing it out because it’s wrong.

Quinny

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s it’s not good people doing this. It’s the bad guys.

Jill

Yeah. No.

Dion

Yeah. The empire is about power. Power is about domination. This is just one of the aspects that they used to dominate. And seize control.

Jill

Yeah, I think.

Dion

And it’s and it’s it and it’s bad and scary.

Jill

I think you need to take a look at yourself. If you get offended by. Somebody using the word rape. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 6

Hmm.

Quinny

Yeah, I find it just ridiculous.

Jill

Maybe check your privileges.

Quinny

Yeah, Missy is asking the question says you didn’t, didn’t recall. Deidre. Deidre. Sorry getting with. Soy boy or cereal?

Dion

It was, it was, it was so implied in the first season because he was kind of totally infatuated with her, and I feel like that puppy dog infatuation just kind of got expanded because remember, we took a skip forward in time.

Quinny

Yeah, but but also there was the whole thing that he saved.

Speaker

Yes.

Quinny

Her on what was the name? Of the planet Ferrix ferrix. Alright, let’s. Yeah, in in the, the whole big riot on on verix, he saves her. And there was a bit at the end where it looked like she was. Perhaps slightly less disgusted with.

Dion

Yeah, but I still feel like she is disgusted with him constantly and she’s disgusted with herself because of choice. It’s just kind of. It’s a perfect relationship. I’m just happy to see.

Speaker

It is.

Speaker 5

But.

Dion

Them. Still there and having that wonderful mother-in-law scene. That’s great.

Quinny

I I ******* loved the that that I’ve read about saw an interview with the actor who plays Cyril. That thing with him lying on the bed. Yeah, that was just him. Like they just said do something. Do whatever Cyril would do. He was just like. On the bed out.

Dion

Yeah, he would. He would? Nope. Because his mum’s being mean and just go and lie on the bed. Until his girlfriend takes the power away and becomes the next one.

Quinny

Yeah, that’s.

Jill

I think introvert behaviors like, oh, I’m being over stimulated. I need to go and disassociate, and then I’ll come back.

Quinny

Meanwhile, less than 5, like 10 feet away, his girlfriend is just destroying his mother.

Dion

Yeah.

Jill

Yeah, that woman need to be taken down so that. I liked that moment. That’s.

Dion

Good. Look, I’m.

Quinny

Yeah.

Dion

I’m slightly sad that brasso kind of died. I mean, that was just. But I mean, this kind of is also the other part of it is like bad **** happens.

Speaker 10

Oh.

Quinny

Hmm.

Dion

And people get lost all the time, especially in this stuff when you’re running and for dumb reasons it wasn’t. Roic, he didn’t sacrifice himself by doing. He was just trying to get away and he got shot and I like how they sort of deal with that and.

Quinny

They have to keep moving and they even set it up earlier by saying, you know, with the young kid, if you don’t take your speeder, you know to go and hook up with your your farmer girl girlfriend.

Dion

So.

Quinny

Somebody you know, something bad’s gonna happen.

Dion

Yeah, yeah.

Quinny

Some bad. Yeah, I love Brazil though, so I was very sad to see him go.

Dion

Yeah, I know. But he did get his moment in the sun by cracking the skull of an imperial with. A. Brick. Yeah, yeah.

Quinny

Actually, I’m ******* loved the very subtle bit with the the farm owner where you know he.

Speaker 10

Ohh.

Jill

Ratting out his illegals.

Quinny

Yeah. Yeah, but. I I love that because that’s bras are going. I’m going to let you off the hook. I was like, oh, ******* nice work.

Dion

Look, it continues.

Jill

High ground.

Dion

It continues to entice and enthrall and I’m really looking forward to watching the next three episodes in about.

Jill

5 seconds. Yes, we have Forest Whitaker absolutely chewing the scenery as Saul Guerrero in the next three episodes.

Dion

He better. He better come back out because I gotta say, sugar is not my favorite character in. The Star Wars. Over either clone Wars or live action, but you know it’s all gonna get to the less stressy more depressy end of this because it is a TPK movie, that it does finish with. So like no one’s looking for a happy ending.

Speaker 3

Hmm.

Dion

Yeah.

Quinny

Umm, no.

Jill

Dion

The only one who comes out of this alive is Mon Mothma.

Jill

Yeah, yeah. I’m still waiting for *******. K2 to show up. Every everyone is 5 episodes now. No. OK, two, come on.

Dion

He’s waiting for K2. Everyone is waiting for K.

Quinny

2 So I’ve I’ve heard a weird rumour and I’m reticent to share it, because if it does come true, I’d be like, oh, OK.

Jill

Uh.

Quinny

So do you do you want the room or do you want me to leave?

Dion

Why not you put it out?

Speaker 10

Speaker 3

There spread it out here.

Speaker 10

But put it out there.

Dion

Well, creative, we don’t know. You could have created. This I I.

Quinny

Read it somewhere online. The the rumour being that at some point in time maybe. Beto e-mail is damaged and it’s his personality that is put into K2 SO.

Speaker 6

Oh.

Dion

Well, right.

Quinny

I was like. Interesting.

Jill

Yeah, destroyed. That’s on its last legs.

Dion

I don’t think so. Well, we’ll we’ll see. Quinny. I don’t like your your spurious theory of just come and thrown out in a cat amongst the pigeons kind of way. No.

Quinny

What do we what do we think about the whole 3 episodes at? A time thing.

Jill

I’m kind of enjoying it. Yeah. I mean, when they announced that it was going to be, you know like 3, what do you call it like bottle series is within a series, I thought, oh, that’s going to be interesting. And I think I’m kind of digging it because it’s great. You get to binge 3 episodes in a in a row and it is self-contained within those 3 episodes.

Dion

You’ve seen a couple.

Speaker 6

Hmm.

Jill

Because now that I’ve jumped to. Episode 456, like we’ve gone another year into the future. And so it’s like it’s it’s moving it along because yeah, we can’t exactly drag this out when we know that Rogue one is. At the end of it.

Dion

And it makes it more interesting too, when you kind of it leaves a little bit of space for things to be explained later, like they can make more. It’s like ohh so oh, he’s got a new haircut or this is the now he’s doing this over here and this is how far the rebellion like it doesn’t have to pull. Hmm. Or like end up in that kind of Game of Thrones thing, which is like uh, we just have to explain everything.

Quinny

You know, I think I’m. I’m enjoying about it. Like, could when when I’ve they first announced that doing that I was like ohh but I like the a weekly drop because I want this to last you know I’m really I I hate the idea of this being over too quickly. However I looked at those first 3 episodes and went oh there’s no way that you.

Dion

Yeah.

Quinny

Could. Like do this. Kind of any other way. You couldn’t just have the first episode. Because it wouldn’t feel like enough. You can have the 1st 2:00 because then you’re midway through a story, so your first arc kind of has to be 3. And then do you do? Single episodes for the rest. Of the season? No, not really. And the thing that the reason I like a weekly drop is because it gives people an opportunity to discuss. Like you know it, it becomes a thing for society to talk about. You know, we can have our means of of Cyril on the bed and everything and.

Jill

I feel like the three episodes, though. Is kind of like a mini movie.

Quinny

Very much so. Like so much so that those first three I was like, holy ****. And it felt like. And or movie 1, umm, whereas the first one felt the first season felt a lot more. Episodic, yeah, yeah.

Dion

Look, so yeah.

Speaker

So good, so good.

Jill

I’m just gonna look forward to the the spin-off series where we see Stella and Sass guard getting his human hair unit installed when he goes to see Mon Mothma and then having it removed when he goes to see his rebels.

Dion

Yeah.

Quinny

That that hairpiece is amazing.

Dion

Quinny

Love it has his his his smile.

Dion

Yeah. Yeah, look, yeah.

Speaker

Hi.

Quinny

I didn’t even Ohh did you notice that that first part of that episode on Chandrila was a winner?

Jill

Oh no.

Dion

Ohh, walking through the landing platform.

Quinny

Yeah, I didn’t pick up on that until I watched the making of thing that her talking to luthan and everybody on the landing platform and all of that is a single shot. I was like, well.

Dion

Yeah, yeah. Well, they can’t do anything like that because adolescence is the current key of single shot TV. And I still haven’t watched that either. OK. So wait, I gotta say, yeah, ripping on.

Quinny

Yeah. And. Ohh yeah, we should we should wrap it up. Wrap it up because. We’re still gonna give a social.

Jill

Ohh yeah.

Dion

And before we do that though, just remember that next month. Is and may. Yeah, still let us know if there’s any animes that we should be doing. No, I’m not watching grandma. Is great, but not all of it. Yeah, but not all of it.

Jill

Emma is amazing.

Dion

I can’t do it all.

Jill

Just watch the new one. It’s only like 12 episodes. 12 episodes.

Speaker 3

That goes for 20 minutes.

Quinny

In this economy.

Speaker 10

Yeah, 12 episodes in this economy.

Jill

Watch it on the bus.

Dion

Buses in this economy.

Jill

Anyway, Thunderbolts go and watch it.

Quinny

Yeah.

Jill

I mean, all of the the promotional material of like the best movie since end game. I’m like that’s a strong statement.

Dion

It is, it’s it’s a.

Jill

Because I particularly liked the marvels, even though, like men, poo pooed it but.

Speaker

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Thunderbolt is pretty much.

Dion

Many people.

Jill

Up there, it’s up there. It’s.

Quinny

Good. Also remember the Spiderman far from home came out after.

Speaker

Eat.

Jill

Oh.

Quinny

Like the big ******* couple.

Jill

Yeah, big cool big. So.

Dion

Look, my social reaction is thumbs up.

Speaker

Yeah.

Dion

Which was strange and and and interesting to watch and a lot. I don’t know. I found a lot funnier than I thought it was. I didn’t know what to expect when I went in.

Jill

Yeah, it’s a good comedy moments. I do like those characters. They all have. They’re funny little quirks and seeing them together was good. I was skeptical because like some of the trailers were, like really painting it as a Disney Marvel version of. Suicide Squad and. I’m like thing like that, but there’s no sky.

Speaker 5

Yeah.

Jill

Beam.

Speaker 3

It was fine, but yes.

Dion

Yeah, or almost sky beam almost sky beam.

Jill

Ohh, how do I feel about Serbs new hairdo? I like going back to the long hair, Bucky. I think long hair.

Dion

I do.

Jill

Bucky is good for a reason.

Dion

But he’s the senator.

Quinny

Have you seen interviews with him recently? Shaved.

Speaker

Oh.

Quinny

That’s, I think what she’s referring to.

Jill

Ohh, that’s what you’re talking about. OK, no, I haven’t seen that yet. I’ll go and have a look. I’ll let you know, Karina, but two post credit scenes guys. Just FYI, you’re gonna go and.

Speaker

Yeah.

Quinny

Yeah, stick around.

Jill

Watch. It there’s the little one after the title credits and then there’s the one at the end and you need to stay for the.

Dion

And.

Jill

One at the end.

Dion

Yeah, I I gotta admit, the final one at the end was actually one of those ones. Like, oh, man, you put something at the end there and they didn’t just do a little one. They did a quite long one. You’re like, OK, right.

Jill

It was. It was quite a long one. And it was definitely worth.

Quinny

It and very funny too. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

Dion

Yes, I’ll say my favorite phrase is lots of. Vertical integration in. In this Marvel film, so, you know they’re pipelining stuff real.

Quinny

Yeah.

Jill

Hot. Ohh yeah.

Quinny

Ohh yeah, but also like getting. I like that they’re getting quite self aware and self referential about that like the whole character of Val is sort of, yeah all about the vertical integration and the the marketing. And yeah, yeah. What are the optics? Yeah, exactly.

Jill

Oh yeah, that’s a woman that can pivot.

Dion

Yeah, absolutely.

Quinny

I was really pleasantly surprised. Yeah, but also I will say and and with all the love in the world. **** you, Travis. Who after the film said and something along the lines of, of course you ******* liked it. You like **** and. Use the phrase. At least this has made David as Suicide Squad look better and I was like, get the **** out. So I have there’s some.

Jill

He is so unpredictable with the stuff that he likes and the stuff that he dislikes. I can’t predict anything he’s gonna say he’s so hot and.

Dion

Cold. He likes working man so.

Jill

That explains everything.

Speaker 9

MMM.

Jill

Yeah. Another David Ayres film like.

Dion

Ohh it’s yeah. Our great, yeah, our great contrarian, Travis. Yeah. On that one, I was like, I don’t know, man, I had a good time. And I watched and I. Laughed and I did not expect to laugh in this film.

Quinny

Yep. I expect I always expect a bit of a laugh with Marvel, but I was pleasantly surprised at how. A 24 it was.

Dion

Yeah.

Quinny

Like somebody else said, it’s like a horror film.

Speaker 3

Look, I think.

Dion

Yeah, the real villain of.

Jill

They managed to like pull off a story that was not over complicated, and I think it just put to shame. Like a lot of other Marvel movies that. Went. Did too much. Did way too much, this was just.

Quinny

I love the fact that we didn’t have a giant ******* CGI fight at the end where everybody’s flying around this stuff. Yeah, this was this was an emotional. Story.

Jill

It was very simple and they executed it well.

Quinny

Yes, go and watch.

Jill

It. Yeah, also Bucky.

Dion

And next week we’ll come back and perhaps review that more fully and with more explanations and also whatever other anime things will do because it’s may tomorrow.

Speaker 5

Yes.

Jill

Yeah. And we promise we won’t go for an hour and a half like the new Rock stars. 1 surely will.

Dion

Just as long term review. Thanks everyone, hope you had a lovely April and next tomorrow. It’s gonna be my. Yeah. Go watch. Yeah. OK. Thanks everyone. We’re going to go now. Thanks everyone in the chat for for joining in and we’ll see you next time.

Quinny

Thanks, chatters. We love you guys. We got nobody to raid.

Speaker 10

No, that’s alright. We’re good. We’re just gonna go. We’re gonna go. Gotta go. Gotta go. Bye bye.
