Sin separated us from God because it is contrary to God. He is the King of Kings and we have no right to go before a King. However, because we’ve believed in Christ, we’ve been given the right to be called a child of God and we do have the right to go before our Father. In Fact, it should motivate you to know that you are God’s dwelling place.

Through the clouds of the curse that had been released upon humanity after the sin of Adam and Eve, a ray of hope arises: the precious promise of redemption. In Genesis 3:15 we hear God declare “I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” This biblical text predicts a continuing struggle between humanity and the power that caused the fall, which would culminate in a victory in favor of humanity, after much suffering.

Sin overshadows all aspects of human existence, seducing us from the outside as an enemy and forcing us from within as part of our fallen human nature. Sin is contrary to God. It affects all creation, including humanity. Even the smallest sin can lead to eternal punishment. The remedy for sin is nothing less than the death of Christ on the cross.
