Trace Elements

Hi Seeker+ fans! Trace here showcasing my new show "That's Absurd Please Elaborate." Every week, Julian Huguet (DNews/Seeker, Soul Pancake, NVidia) and I look into weird and wacky questions sent in by our audience. Maybe yours could be next!

In this, episode Trace (recording from his childhood home) explores the chemistry and power of the lasagna battery. Then, Julian flies off the handle about helicopters as a gift for himself for his birthday (Happy Birthday, Julian! 🎂)

QUESTIONS

Julian: "Can a helicopter fly upside down? AND could it land SAFELY upside down on it's rotors?" from Gailmarie

Trace: "How many lasagna batteries does it take to power a toaster oven?" from Bjorn on Spotify

Hi Seeker+ fans, Trace here! It's been a while, but I'm back. This feed now belongs to me and my lil' production company, Trace Elements Media! I've got an announcement for you…

I'VE GOT A NEW SCIENCE PODCAST :: That's Absurd Please Elaborate.

In our new show, Julian Huguet and I answer ridiculous questions with serious science research. We have been working on this podcast for a couple of years, and it's funny, quirky, strange, and takes deep dives into everything from arboreal shrinkage to space elevators, psychology of pets to the rocket equation and how it applies to farts (seriously).

This is the first half of Episode 68 -- Vulcan Tech or Unladen Swallows: Where'd you get the coconut? Which aired earlier this year.

I hope you enjoy! Please come join us on the show, links to that feed are here ↙️

There’s no disputing that Venus is a mysterious hellscape with scorching temperatures, crushing pressures, and a poisonous atmosphere, but it wasn’t always like that. Some theories even suggest Venus was once habitable. So to finally get answers, NASA is developing two missions to explore Earth’s evil twin. In this series, we’re going to see why Venus didn’t end up like Earth, why sci-fi once imagined the planet was a paradise, and explain a controversial study suggesting life could exist in the clouds.

The "God Particle” is a sexy name, but many physicists absolutely hate it. It’s also led people to think that maybe the discovery of the Higgs boson has something to do with the search for God, but it doesn’t. In this series, we’re going to talk about how scientists even knew to look for the Higgs Boson, how they found it, and what it means for the future of particle physics.
