Pauline Longdon served in the Australian Army in the Royal Australian Army Nursing Corp for almost 14 years. In that time, she achieved the rank of Major. Her service saw her posted to the School of Health numerous times and being deployed to East Timor and The Solomon Islands. These experiences had a long-lasting effect on her and her life. Some good, and some not so good.

She was medically discharged in 2005 with Major Depression. At the time Pauline thought her life was over. In fact, she wished it was. She was burnt out, and her brain was so fried, she found it hard to even read or write. She felt useless and hopeless.

Frustrated with the rehabilitation process, Pauline decided not to wait to be told what she could or couldn't do. With nothing to lose, she explored options that were unconventional and shunned by the medical fraternity. They laughed at her and her decision. She was determined to get better so she self-funded her own rehabilitation to recover from depression... and it worked.

Today she is an author, professional copywriter, and marketer.

Now she is paid quite handsomely for her reading and writing abilities. Pauline is highly regarded by her peers and her clients. She lives by the simple philosophy "Be the change you wish to see in the world" and she is doing exactly that.

While Brendan has been out since the 80's he certainly has some fond and not so fond memories of the infantry, he has made a professional career and had run his own business and a side hustle

we finally catch back up with tim from urban gelball, we had planned to go to him but alas the stars did not align. and then the delta strain messed it all up. so we talk a bit about his field and the way he sees things and fair bit about milsim in general. we also plan to do a double team with the other AGBL guys in future

Shane and I have known each other for about 2 years, he is from Singapore where national service is a requirement for all males. Post service he went into "media" with a diploma but after immigrating to Australia and a few ore years he is now a teacher in Toowoomba. his dad was RSAF and spent a lot of time here and also now lives in Toowoomba

Shane and I did our ordinance IET course together and our paths corssed a few times over the years. he started in realestate before the army and has gone back there again now

ARA = Australian regular army. ARES = Army reserves , SASR = special air service regiment, SF = special forces, support staff = non special forces qualified people at SASR eg clerks and stores people

Adam and I met as corporals at ARTC when we were both recruit instructors. we formed a friendship and worked and played hard. we caught up at Mark Langs funeral most recently and realised that we were both in brisbane so weve got plans for a better catch up. Adam used LSL to study at UNI and changed his entire direction.

Dan and i have crossed patch in our shared love of gel blasters (but this is not about gel blasters) , so i caught up with him to give a very different view of somebody that has been Full time army, a QAS dispatcher and now a small business owner and see what their transition form each was like
