We've all witnessed, or perhaps been, poor leaders. Leaders in title, but certainly not the type of leaders that engender trust or make others want to follow them. This episode is all about recognizing those negative leadership styles and characteristics and then making sure that we don't become that type of leader or allow ourselves to be led by a self-seeking leader.

This week's episode is part 2 of the discussion from last week in which we began our series on leadership by looking at some godly examples from scripture. Today we dive into the characteristics of David, Paul and Philemon that made each of them powerful and important leaders.

We're beginning a new series this week on leadership. Over the next several weeks we'll discuss what the Bible has to say about characteristics and qualities of godly leaders in our homes, communities, local churches and more. We're going to begin by looking at 6 examples of godly leaders: Moses, Joshua and Nehemiah this week. David, Paul and Philemon next week. We'll be using the workbook "Leadership: The Crisis of our Time" by Wendell Winkler as a template for our discussions. Enjoy!

Nearly as soon as Jesus was born He became a target. His mere presence in the world represented a perceived threat to Herod's status and control that lead him down a path of irrational and immoral decisions. History will tell of us of his wickedness and there are some pretty important lessons to be learned from his behavior.

The pages of Esther offer so many powerful stories and examples of courage, faith and leadership. But they also introduce us to Haman...a wicked, self-centered and evil man with vengeance in his heart and pride that lead to his ultimate death. He's the subject of the conversation today!
