I take a trade on mic & talk about rage quitting my way into the red vs. the possibility of a profitable stoic diligence.
Recorded 10/21/21 at 9:40 AM. Edited to cut ums and stuff, so what I say about charts and trades won't really match real time.
At low-effort content—where okay is okay—we make stuff and share it with you to celebrate life with curiosity, creativity, and compassion...kind of...sometimes.
You can contact us & buy our coffee mugs and things.
And you can listen to our shows:
Make Mine a Double Feature, where Rob & Ellen have a few drinks and tell each other movie stories in all kinds of ways—like backwards or in the form of letters or from the POV of a side character.
Kid. Dad. Songs. Yeah!, where Rob & Felix talk about music.
Trivial Television, where Ellen & Rob recap TV episodes while sprinkling in facts, fictions, and trivia questions.
Booyah 90s Now, where Rob & Joe break down what it’s been like to live under the influence of 90s media.
Trading Up!, where Rob loses a bunch of money trying to become a good stock trader.
Thanks for hanging out.
Take care.
Been a mixed bag lately like always, and I talk that out a bit while taking a trade and talking that out, too.

I talk about how taking big losses and only small wins is related to fear. And what I might do about that.
Here's video 1 of the Tom Hougaard presentation I talk about.

You know how the dark is scary and it's just because you don't know what's there? Well I don't know if I'm making a good entry. I don't know where to set a stop loss. I don't know what I'm doing. And all that unknown stuff has me trading scared.
But also some cause for optimism here in week 4.
Stuff I Reference
Ross Cameron of Warrior Trading talking a lot about level 2s while reviewing TD Ameritrade. And then Cameron talking about Relative Volume, which is the video where he also talks about his winning percentage and smaller wins.
And here's Hurwitz interviewing usual host Fifield on Chat with Traders, which includes Fifield saying five years ago my exact thing about wanting to code backtests to gain more confidence in strategies.

VWAP is volume-weighted average price. It's apparently a decent thing to pay attention to and seemed to hold up nicely in some casual backtesting over last weekend. So I went all-in on it like a dummy and lost big.
Plus, where my intraday strategy is now and what I hope to learn going forward.
I mention a couple of episode of the Chat with Traders podcast, Aaron Fifield's interviews with Kristjan Kullamägi & Zach Hurwitz.
I also give some credit to the Humbled Trader on YouTube for giving me a little to think about with volume (I think that's the video).

Look, I'm doing stuff because I'm afraid I'll miss big gains. So I have to call it what it annoyingly is: FOMO. On this first episode of my trading...journey (I have to use words like that because that's what I'm dealing with here), I talk a little bit about getting started and the big emotional driver that I'm excited to overcome.
Thanks for following along. Hope all is well with you.
