Cs: Začalo to tím, že Ludmila seděla na lavičce v Riegrových sadech.
En: It started with Ludmila sitting on a bench in Riegrovy sady.
Cs: Podzimní vítr jemně šelestil mezi listím, které začínalo opadávat.
En: The autumn wind gently rustled through the leaves, which were beginning to fall.
Cs: Navzdory chladnu na ní padla teplá nostalgie.
En: Despite the chill, a warm nostalgia enveloped her.
Cs: Bylo to místo, kde si s Tomášem hráli jako děti.
En: It was the place where she used to play with Tomáš as children.
Cs: Teď se setkali, aby připravili vánoční trh.
En: Now they met to prepare the Christmas market.
Cs: Lidé kolem si připravovali stánky a vzduch voněl svařeným vínem.
En: People around were setting up their stalls, and the air smelled of mulled wine.
Cs: „Tomáši!“ zvolala Ludmila, když ho uviděla přicházet.
En: “Tomáši!” Ludmila called out when she saw him approaching.
Cs: Vypadal stejně, a přitom nějak jinak.
En: He looked the same, yet somehow different.
Cs: Jako kdyby na tváři nosil stopy svých denních starostí.
En: As if his face bore the traces of his daily worries.
Cs: Přivítal ji úsměvem, ale zatímco ona viděla v Riegrových sadech kouzlo, on myslel na čas, který promarnil rutinou.
En: He greeted her with a smile, but while she saw the magic in Riegrovy sady, he thought about the time he wasted in routine.
Cs: „Jak plánujeme trh?“ zeptal se.
En: “How are we planning the market?” he asked.
Cs: Ludmila měla jasnou představu.
En: Ludmila had a clear idea.
Cs: „Chci přidat tradice.
En: “I want to add traditions.
Cs: Malé Mikulášské představení pro děti.
En: A little Mikuláš performance for the kids.
Cs: A taky ručně vyráběné ozdoby,“ řekla nadšeně.
En: And also handmade decorations,” she said excitedly.
Cs: Ale Tomáš měl jiné myšlenky.
En: But Tomáš had different thoughts.
Cs: „Měli bychom nabídnout něco moderního.
En: “We should offer something modern.
Cs: Možná živou hudbu, něco, co přitáhne mladé.“ „Musí to být tradiční,“ stála si na svém Ludmila.
En: Maybe live music, something that will attract the young.” “It has to be traditional,” insisted Ludmila.
Cs: „Ale moderní je taky důležité,“ oponoval Tomáš.
En: “But modern is important too,” Tomáš argued.
Cs: Napětí viselo ve vzduchu jako mračna sněhu, která se začínala sypat z oblohy.
En: Tension hung in the air like snow clouds beginning to fall from the sky.
Cs: Přípravy probíhaly hladce, až do dne před zahájením.
En: Preparations went smoothly until the day before the opening.
Cs: Náhlá sněhová bouře zasáhla Prahu a stánky pokryla bílou pokrývkou.
En: A sudden snowstorm hit Prague and covered the stalls with a white blanket.
Cs: Ludmila stála zoufalá uprostřed chaosu.
En: Ludmila stood desperate in the midst of chaos.
Cs: „Co budeme dělat?“ zeptala se Tomáše.
En: “What are we going to do?” she asked Tomáš.
Cs: „Pracujeme spolu,“ řekl s pevným odhodláním.
En: “We work together,” he said with firm determination.
Cs: Oba si nasadili rukavice a začali odklízet sníh.
En: Both of them put on gloves and started clearing the snow.
Cs: Práce to byla společná, ruce jim promrzaly, ale srdce hřála vzpomínka na to, co společně dokáží, pokud táhnou za jeden provaz.
En: It was a joint effort, their hands freezing, but their hearts warmed by the memory of what they could achieve together when pulling in the same direction.
Cs: Noc před Mikulášem už bylo vše hotovo.
En: The night before Mikuláš, everything was ready.
Cs: Stánky zářily v lampionech a vánoční světla osvětlovala cestičky.
En: The stalls glowed under the lanterns, and Christmas lights illuminated the pathways.
Cs: Nikdo neměl pocit, že tu je něco tradičního nebo moderního.

Cs: Únava z něj spadla, nahradilo ji něco jiného – hlubší pouto k městu a k Ludmile.

Cs: „Myslím, že jsem našel něco, co mi tu chybělo,“ řekl.
