As a native Detroiter, I know first hand some of the challenges my family faced in trying to own a home. We moved around frequently and that meant, I did not always feel secure. Then in 2008 my world came crumbling down.... suddenly everything changed for many Detroiters and people all over the country.. scammers, evictions, foreclosures...
"Locked Out" is a documentary that takes us on the real-life journey of African-American women who lost their homes and the mental, physical, emotional and even spiritual toll it takes on us.
Join LHG as she interviews Luchina Fisher (Director), Lysa Davis (Financial Expert), and Soummer Crawford (Detroit Housing Activist), about a topic that is extremely close to home. Why are we, as Black women, locked out of the housing market? How do we get in? Does anyone understand that we just want a place.. called HOME. View the trailer at https://vimeo.com/770937349.
