When Jerry Siegel wrote the first Superman adventure in 1933, he immediately made it clear that the brat sent to Earth from another planet had super powers. From then on, no one was surprised to see the young man in the red cape flying at the speed of light and holding up a plane with his hands in the comics. It is called ‘suspension of disbelief’: in fictional works, the reader accepts as possible things that could never happen in reality. Fantastically true, on the contrary, is a series that tells, by documenting them, stories that actually happened, amazingly without resorting to the suspension of disbelief: reality does not need to be plausible.
