We’re back after a long 4th of July holiday break!
Seen any good trailers this week? Were you entertained?
This week we’re talking about Sonic Identity and the songs and sounds that became synonymous (for better or worse) with a trailer campaign.
We also asked some of our friends on the other side of the industry to share their favorites, including Mike Ferman (Buddha Jones), James Edgington (Mark Woollen), Kyle McKinney (R3BEL), and Charles Yi (Transit).

In this episode we’re walking on the razor’s edge, addressing some touchy subjects that we all face on a regular basic. Whether it’s the right amount of self-promotion, dealing with NDAs, or taking notes without taking offense, there are myriad scenarios to be aware of working in any field.
We also get some thoughts on the subject from industry veterans Megan Barbour (Buddha Jones), Andrew Whyte (Jax, Complexities of Sound), and Joe Vallero (Pool Party Creative).

For the main theme this week, the hosts get real while discussing how they stay motivated in the face of imposter syndrome, rejection and loss, and all the other things we deal with in this competitive industry.

Welcome to Episode 9 of Trailer Therapy! This week Bryan and Brian espouse the basic rules of trailer music... and when to break them. They also giver their advice to a composer who lives in a country where their income is too low to be able to afford the necessary VSTs and software most composers take for granted. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday week, there weren’t a ton of tentpole trailers released so the hosts are doing a reset.

Welcome to Episode 8 of Trailer Therapy! This week Brian and Bryan teach an intro to trailers course for listeners who want to know more about the industry being discussed on the show every week. They also chat about Ludwig Göransson, films they’ve recently watched, and the new trailers that came out this week. There’s a new recurring segment, which finds Bryan and Brian interpreting vague or confusing notes that listeners have received. Send your vague (and anonymous) notes from a custom or brief for consideration on a future episode. This week’s featured trailers include two using music from the hosts: Madame Web and Unsung Hero. Let’s not forget Garfield, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Imaginary, and Ted the Series!
