In this episode, we talk about some common ways that Christians respond to suffering that are unbiblical.
In this episode, we talk about the suffering of Jesus and the comfort we have in having a God who can sympathize and empathize in our sufferings. He is not a God who is removed from our suffering, but who walks, immanently, with us as His people. And because of Jesus' suffering, we are saved and forgiven - and we also have comfort and encouragement in our daily suffering.
In this episode, we continue our mini series on suffering and, in this episode, we think through two days: "this" day and "that" day - the future Day promised where there are no more funerals, sickness and suffering for the Christian and how this hope emboldens us to live in "this" day with comfort and assurance
In this episode, we are continuing our study on suffering in the life of the Christian and processing through eight outcomes of suffering in our lives:
This podcast series on suffering comes from a very specific understanding that ideas have consequences and that theology really does matter - what someone believes really shapes how they view God, how they view themselves, and how they walk through their lives.
This podcast is for those of you questioning your faith because you were taught that God was like a divine vending machine ... if you put in the right coins of faith, you’d get whatever you want out of life. But then tragedy strikes: cancer, Alzheimers, car accidents, inflation, loss of jobs, miscarriages.
What if "suffering" isn't a terrible thing to be avoided at all costs and saved from? What if suffering is the means by which God glorifies Himself as He grows us in Christlikeness, leading us to kill sin in our lives and live out our faith in ways that speak to the truth of a coming kingdom that is much better than what this world has to offer? What if suffering is meant to be part of the Christian life?
This special episode series will be airing, Lord willing, once per day for the next week and a half. Binge this series, or take it slowly. Either way, we pray it is encouraging.

Welcome back to BaseCamp and to this episode where we are diving back into our discussions in Systematic Theology. And, today, we come to the last episode in discussing the order of salvation - or, as we have been talking about, the behind the scenes look at how we became Christians; our spiritual birth stories, we might say - and how God has been planning, working out, securing and applying our salvation into our lives. And I pray that it has been helpful as we have been discussing God’s plan of redemption. Now, As we’ve been working through God’s plan of redemption in the last episode, we considered God’s glorious work to adopt rebellious sinners like us into his own family, then His plans of sanctifying us and persevering us to the end.
Well, in today’s episode, we are talking about Death and glorification - and it’s amazing if we think about it, humans have a 100% mortality rate, we are all going to die unless Jesus comes and sets up His kingdom here upon the earth during our lifetime - and even our deaths are part of God’s glorious plans as we will shed our old bodies, taking them off like dirty, old clothes, so that we might put on our new selves and be free from sin as we are in paradise with our Saviour in the place where He has gone to prepare for us.

So, for the last few episodes, we have been walking through what theologians often refer to as the order of salvation that helps us understand how God applies redemption to Christians.
A couple of episodes ago ago, we spoke about the first three steps or stages of the salvation order– election, the gospel call, and regeneration. Then, last episode, we took a look at the two next stages—conversion and justification. We also took a look at the idea of Union with Christ and how it manifests itself through the act of conversion and is the reality of our justification. In this episode, we will look at the next three steps or stages of the salvation order—adoption, sanctification, and perseverance.
