TV Casting Calls

AMC's Hell on Wheels season 2 is casting for extras in the Calgary Area so I went and tried out. I'l let you know how it goes.

http://www.amctv.com/shows/hell-on-wheels

High Noon Entertainment is currently looking to develop a new series around the railroad yards of the North East and Great Lake areas. The show will focus on the individuals who work for the railways, getting a glimpse into their everyday lives. They are in the very early stages of development so any insight in finding the right railway, railroad or crew of railroad employees would be greatly appreciated. This will be a format for shows very commonly seen on the Discovery Channel or National Geographic. It would be fantastic to find employees or crews that know each other but it’s not a deal breaker if they do not.

If you can recommend anyone or the best way to find candidates for this series, please let Casting Director Dominique Bouchard know. Anyone interested or who may have questions can reach out to [email protected] or email their number and Dominique will call them directly. Interested individuals should send a recent photo along with their name, age, contact info, and area of expertise.

National Train Day is done for 2012.

Here's some of what happened on the day...

Longview, TX Amtrak Depot. City council was successful in getting the Amtrak exhibit train to stop for a weekend layover. April 27, 28, 29, 2012. The exhibit train set up just south of the Longview Depot on a spur track. An estimated 2000 people came to see the train. A big surprise for city officials and Amtrak. The city is planning to have a rededication of the restored depot at National Train Day 2013

National Train Day is this weekend, May 12 and there are 4 'Major Market' Events being held in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. These events are well covered by Amtrak, so I'd like to shine a light on some of the over 130 National Train Day Events being held at other locations around the US.

Two more things. Amtrak is running a contest where you share your trip stories on National Train Day website and you can win a trip on Amtrak. Why not enter?

Also, as fas as I know, Amtrak doesn't track how many people show up to National Train Day events. I'm curious so I'm conducting a straw pole. Let me know how the attendance was at the event you were at or put on!
