Training Frequency: How often should I be working out?

One thing that has stood out over the last few months has been volume in training (total amount of weight lifted). One of the biggest ways to get more volume is by training more often. Volume is what leads to changes in the body. Do we always agree on what athletes are doing at school? No, but for those that we get to work with, they do learn how to move well so they aren’t getting beat up. The key ingredient though to be able to recover from the increased volume is food. A simple trick for young athletes to increase their food while not gaining a ton of fat, add a big bowl of cereal at night and drink a Gatorade. Do those both on days you workout. For people lifting to look a certain way, I highly recommend you find a great nutrition coach. Food is the key. If you’re a powerlifter still eating like shit, get ready to get beat by people taking nutrition serious in the sport.
