Before Transcend2d was a podcast, it was a problem I was trying to solve in my own life.

In Part I of my story, I go back to the beginning: my first jobs, a Mormon mission, my introduction to door-to-door sales, and the strange love-hate relationship I developed with an industry that challenged me more than almost anything else in my life.

Door-to-door gave me opportunities I’m incredibly grateful for. It taught me how to sell, lead, endure, and create financial freedom. That freedom eventually allowed my wife and me to spend nearly two years traveling the world and asking bigger questions about how we wanted to live.

Then, just as I thought I had created the freedom I’d been working toward, much of it disappeared in one of Utah’s largest Ponzi schemes. With a baby on the way, a new house, and financial pressure mounting, I found myself turning back to the thing I thought I had already left behind: door-to-door sales.

This is the first half of the story of how I got here—and ultimately, why Transcend2d exists.
