Lynie, a recent graduate of Dr. Maggie Yu’s Transform Autoimmune Disease Naturally eight-week program, joins us in this episode. She has suffered with rheumatoid arthritis since she was twenty-one, and in the past couple of years, Lynie was in so much pain that she was reaching out for anything and everything that could help her.

We’re focusing today on how someone who has had lupus for thirty years can turn it around. Christina, with the help of Dr. Maggie Yu’s Transform Autoimmune Disease Naturally program, has overcome this lengthy struggle in just eight weeks.

Since she was twelve-years-old, Christina has had lupus symptoms and eventually got diagnosed with the disease at age sixteen. She went through several doctors and medications in her life and felt that the lupus had begun to go into remission. Christina collected a few more diagnoses, including Sjogren's syndrome, and about three years ago she suddenly had trouble swallowing. One day, she felt like she couldn’t swallow and all and had to go on an all liquid diet. Dr. Maggie Yu is speaking with Leslie Savage today. She is a registered nurse who has struggled with rheumatoid arthritis and hormonal issues, but is now in her final week of Dr. Yu’s Transform Autoimmune Disease Naturally program.

Leslie has had to deal with a lot of pain issues. She was going to her chiropractor three to four times a week just to be able to keep working her job. After being referred to a rheumatologist, she was diagnosed with RA. Leslie was offered medication that would suppress her immune system, but because of the many germs in her workplace, she opted to not take them. She felt like this was going to be a career-ending diagnosis. Every day, Leslie would dread going to work because even something as simple as writing was difficult for her.

During the first week of being enrolled in Dr. Yu’s program, Leslie was already feeling better. She regained the ability to sleep and her gut issues were already starting to clear up because of the dietary changes that were recommended to her. By week four, Leslie had even picked up a second job. She says that she hasn’t felt like this since she was in her twenties.

Before starting the program, besides work, even just living day-to-day life was difficult for Leslie. Elaine has just graduated from Dr. Maggie’s eight-week online program that transforms autoimmune disease naturally.

The past year has been a terrible downward spiral for Elaine’s health. It all began about two and a half years ago when she began the onset of sciatica and back pain, which then grew into a whole different creature. An MRI showed Elaine that she had some spinal issues, but no doctors could figure out the pain associated with them. She became bed ridden and her pain soon spread to her entire body. She went to Johns Hopkins Hospital, one of the most renowned in the world, but even that team of skilled doctors could not figure out Elaine’s issues.

Having gone through the program, Elaine is now capable of determining the cause-and-effect relationships that the doctors could not. Kate Byars is here to talk about her son, Eli, going through the Transform Autoimmune Disease Naturally program. Eli started showing symptoms of PANDAS about a year ago, and after a bit of a journey, Kate eventually found Dr. Yu because he wasn’t getting the help that he needed from regular doctors.

Dr. Yu inquires about what life was like for Kate and her family a year ago. Kate recalls that before she ever saw the ticks of PANDAS in Eli, she saw the behavior without realizing it was a sign of the disease. Kate admits that she was dismissive about the behavior, attributing it to Eli just being a temperamental little boy. He would have trouble self-regulating his anger, being unable to get rid of it. The more it escalated, the more difficult it was for the family to deal with.

After noticing ticks, Kate took Eli to a local pediatrician who works with a lot of children with PANDAS and is known for her success with them. The doctor said to give Eli some fish oil and vitamin D, and provided a prescription for antibiotics if things got any worse. Kate felt unfulfilled with this advice and was expecting a little bit more. She then discusses how Eli’s ticks continued to escalate from visual ones to auditory ones. Eli had always been a social child who thrived while around others, but he was wanting to do less because he was embarrassed by his ticks.

Eli completed Dr. Yu's program about two months ago. Kate says that his anger and ticks are completely gone, and that about three weeks into the program he had changed drastically. Kate describes how Eli woke up one day and asked her, “mom, do you see how happy I am now? Do you notice I don’t get mad anymore?” This was the moment that made Scott, Kate’s husband, a firm believer of the program.

Kate reflects on how before working with Dr. Yu, she found herself asking if she was doing enough for her son. It felt like she was playing a guessing game with what supplements, dosages, and so on to give to Eli. She chose to work with Dr. Yu because her program is a data game, not a guessing game. When asked if the investment of time and money was worth the results, Kate firmly believes it was because her son’s health was at stake. She says that she and her husband would invest five times as much for these results. Today’s topic is brain fog. Brain fog is a serious issue in autoimmune disease, and its impact is devastating. There’s also a focus on the link between ADD/ADHD and autoimmune disease. Dawn is welcomed to this episode to discuss how these have affected her life and what the program has done for her.

Dawn is a recent graduate of Dr. Maggie Yu's program and has four children aged sixteen to twenty-two, three of which have ADD. When talking about the problems that she experienced before entering the program, Dawn says that she herself was diagnosed with ADD at the age of twenty-three. As she grew more, she was diagnosed with endometriosis, thyroid problems, and Hashimoto’s. Dawn’s marriage, life, and career were falling apart. She then received even more diagnoses, including chronic fatigue syndrome and lupus.

Dr. Maggie asks Dawn how much of an impact brain fog had on her life, and Dawn immediately says it was horrible. Once upon a time she was able to stay on top of everything, but that turned into not being able to complete sentences nor remember important conversations. She continued upping her dose of ADD meds to the point where she was taking them just to function.

Dawn says that just four weeks into Dr. Yu's eight-week program she was off all medications. She proclaims that she sleeps wonderfully at night and has no more pain. Without brain fog, Dawn says that she now feels free and has a sharp mind. Even though her symptoms had drastically improved at the end of the eight weeks, she says that they continue to get even better. Around week six, Dawn found herself thinking “this is great! How could it get any better?” After seeing the results still improving each week, Dawn knows that her life will continue to improve. Today we’re going to talk about thinking you’ve tried everything to cure autoimmune disease. When Dr. Yu has phone calls with people who want to join her eight-week program, they often feel this way. Jenna joins in on this episode because she felt the same way before graduating from Dr. Maggie’s natural healing program.

Jenna has two kids and an intense job on top of dealing with autoimmune disease for the past ten years. She has been diagnosed with celiac disease, Hashimoto’s, Lyme disease, and more. Prior to joining the program, Jenna says that she was extremely fatigued all the time. She was totally overwhelmed with life and was barely making it through her days.

Dr. Yu instructs Jenna to list everything she has tried to get over her autoimmune diseases. Jenna has done tons of testing, visited many different doctors, been on special diets, taken lots of various supplements, worked with a nutritionist in a group and one-on-one, and completed an online course.

In hindsight, now having graduated from Dr. Maggie’s program, Jenna states that she definitely had not tried everything. She says that maybe the single most advantageous attribute of Dr. Yu's program is that it contains a systematic plan. Inside of the simple, succinct plan, Jenna loved the abundance of education it provided. The amount of time spent understanding autoimmune disease via an expert team was life-changing for Jenna. Dr. Maggie asks why her program is so different from the previous one that Jenna had participated in, with Jenna affirming that the quality and quantity of the information is vastly different.

Her graduation date being a couple of weeks ago, Jenna talks about what outcomes she has experienced since. She declares that she now has sustained energy like she had decades ago. No longer does she face brain fog and gastrointestinal issues daily. Part of Jenna’s job is marketing, so she feels that this new outlook on life positively affects her creative abilities and helps her to perform better. Jenna still has ups and downs, but now when she feels a down, she knows what’s triggering it and how to get back on track right away. Furthermore, she has much more freedom to eat foods that she loves than she thought. Jenna was even about to go on an extremely limiting, likely unsustainable diet, but Dr. Yu's program has let her avoid doing so.

Jenna was seeing and is continuing to see a great doctor, and Dr. Maggie asks about what their relationship is like despite that physician not providing the results that Jenna desired. Jenna takes part of the blame, as she says she didn’t understand some of the recommendations she received. Her doctor would take a full hour to sit down with Jenna to diagnose her, but Jenna now realizes that even that is not enough time to provide enough education and the level of personal mastery needed. Jenna still regularly sees her doctor and is happy to include her as part of her support network.

Jenna says that her investment into Dr. Yu's program was absolutely worth it. She can’t rave about the program enough, and tells us that it’s hard to understand the value that comes from it because she’s never seen anything like it before.

Today, Dr. Maggie Yu is interviewing Nimfa and Leon. When any autoimmune disease flares, it can be so life-threatening and debilitating that it presents a very hopeless situation. Nimfa and Leon were able to turn this around in just a matter of weeks, and they share their story about how they accomplished this.

Nimfa and Leon start by sharing where they were before they started Dr. Yu's program. Nimfa says that she was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in 2016. She went through all the conventional treatments but still always had flares, the worst of which were last year and put her in the hospital three times. Leon says that every time Nimfa went to the hospital, her condition seemed to be getting worse. He shares how his daily life was regarding Nimfa, including making sure that she was able to get back and forth to the bathroom. They even had to put a toilet in their bedroom because it was so difficult for her. Leon also recalls how an allergic reaction that Nimfa experienced while in the hospital nearly killed her.

We hear about how Nimfa began to notice differences while she was still in the program. She discusses how upon entering the program, her main focus was on regaining her ability and desire to eat. The program helped her realize that there are so many things connected to her autoimmune disease besides food. She happily talks about how she was able to go out with Leon to get groceries and lower some of her medication dosages. Leon jumps in to express how a while ago, Nimfa wouldn’t even have been able to have this conversation because she found speaking to drain her energy.

Dr. Yu asks the couple about what they think the true reasons are that make her program successful. Leon says the first reason is that it helps to identify the cause. He believes that many people are trying to fix just symptoms rather than the root issue. He adds that motivation from alumni of the program was instrumental as well. Nimfa then talks about how using her personal data was crucial as opposed to using generalized data that fits everybody.

Our guest today, Chris, is here to talk about how those problems got solved for her. Chris has her phone call with Dr. Yu's team about ten weeks ago and shares with us what led her to make this phone call.

Chris introduces herself as a mother of two and a career woman. Looking back, she didn’t realize how one issue after another had compounded over many years. It started in her 20s when she had toxic shock, continued into her 30s when she had Epstein-Barr, and into her 40s when she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. She was at her wit’s end with visiting so many doctors and trying to figure out what was going on. She found Dr. Yu online, and saw that her approach was different than the other doctors she had seen. Chris decided to schedule a phone call with Dr. Yu, on which Chris asked, “am I ever going to feel better? Am I ever going to be the person that I was?”

Dr. Maggie answered that question by telling Chris that it isn’t even hard and that she knows exactly how to fix Chris’ life. Chris insists that the aspect that is different about this program is that Dr. Maggie isn’t telling people what to do, but rather helps people find the answers they are looking for. Chris knew what was wrong and just needed the tools to understand what the next steps were. She also needed to get the right mindset. Chris talks about how the food mapping that Dr. Yu assisted with was eye-opening because it caused her to realize that she can’t eat eggs: a food that she was eating regularly because she thought they would make her feel better. Two days after this discovery, she had already begun to feel better.

Chris says that her children notice the change in her too, making remarks such as “mommy, you are just so much more happier now.” Before enrolling in the program, Chris describes how she wasn’t ever in-the-moment. Now, she says that she no longer needs to let this disease take over her life. She further comments on how getting her stomach under control has allowed her to sleep soundly at night once again.

Dr. Yu asks Chris to share her thoughts on skepticism that is held by some people. Chris was very skeptic as well and tells us that she had spent more money on doctors, trying to figure out what was wrong, than making this investment in herself. She and her husband had to make the decision of if this program was what Chris needed, and her husband said that it absolutely was. It’s the best investment that they have made in a long time because Chris is enjoying life again.

Dr. Maggie often receives questions about what happens after the program. Chris teaches us that if you put the time in, do the lessons, and get in the right mindset, you will get into a habit and you will make changes. Chris says that she is fully confident that she will continue to feel better even though she has finished the program, with much credit going to the support group of other people who have completed the program and changed their lives.

She is here today to talk about where she was before starting the program, what her outcomes have been, and what the process was like through this journey.

Alisa introduces herself as a 41-year-old married mother of two kids. She started her health journey in 2002 when she was diagnosed with MS. It was a big shock, but thankfully, her symptoms were minimal. However, in 2005, Alisa was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease which was a big struggle for her. In the fall of last year, her doctors were recommending a bowel resection to avoid having to do an emergency one later. Alisa quickly agreed to the surgery and was expecting the outcome to be dramatic and life-changing, but it didn’t turn out how she had expected. Alisa talks about the struggle of her recovery and how it affected everything in her life. She did research and decided she needed something outside-the-box, which led her to Dr. Yu and her program.

Graduating from the program just about a month ago, Alisa has already gone on a trip to Europe, which she says would have made her very anxious beforehand. She talks about some of the things that she learned in the program, citing vitamin deficiency advice that was specific to her as the one of the most valuable. This helped her to collaborate with the right providers so she could get the exact treatment that she needed. We also learn about the food mapping that Alisa received and her amazement that she has never heard of food mapping before, despite having an issue directly related to her bowels.

Alisa’s husband Omar then joins in on the conversation to share his experience. Dr. Yu invites spouses to be included on the initial phone call with people who are interested in starting the program, so Dr. Maggie asks Omar what his thoughts were during that first phone call. He says that it was good to get to know Dr. Maggie, because when pursuing a program to fix such a problem, it always seems like you’re talking to a salesperson. Omar also states how Dr. Yu is true to her word and doesn’t promise anything, instead opting to provide the information needed and letting the person decide if they want to make a change in their life or not. The couple are asked how eating has changed in their family after the program, with Omar expressing that the rest of the family are still able to eat the same.

Having a lot of anxiety before entering the program, Alisa reports that she now feels in control. She says that everything she ate was a big question before, but now she is aware of complications that come with eating certain foods and can judge whether the trade off is worth it or not. Dr. Maggie asks if the program feels like going to see a doctor or nutritionist for eight weeks, and Alisa speaks to how it is like nothing she has ever experienced.
