Transformational

Welcome to the transformational podcast. A conversation between brothers about practical ways faith is impacting our lives. We invite you to join us on this journey as we are learning to let faith transform the way we live. Romans 12:2

This week, Chris hits hard with his dad jokes, and then walks us through Ephesians 6:4 and Colossians 3:21. We discuss how to encourage our kids, focusing on improvement, and learning to correct instead of criticize our kids. Chris discusses the similarities of how God disciplines and instructs us, and how we are called to do the same with our kids.

This week, Chris and Robert discuss how David sought God in all decisions. From a decision to rescue his family to decisions on how he should attack the enemy, David was an example of how we should approach God about everyday decisions in our own life. Our discussion roams from 1 Sam 30:8 to 2 Sam 5:17. We hope that in this episode you will get some practical application for how to seek God daily.

This week, Robert discusses what God had been walking him through this week. From John 7 to 1 Sam 9, Robert and Chris discuss how the Holy Spirit guides and strengthens us through everyday situations. Christ offered to let us drink from streams of living water now, and through the Holy Spirit, we can drink daily. We look forward to walk folks through what it looks like to drink the streams of living water now and how it can empower us now.

This week, Chris takes us through one of the things God has been teaching him. He points out how Jesus teaches the Kingdom of God is here now. He describes how in Mark 4:26-29, the parable that Jesus is describing is not of the Kingdom at work in the future, but that the Kingdom of God is working now even when we do not observe it. So, if we want to participate in the Kingdom of God now, we have the responsibility to work to plant, water, and harvest all that God is doing. He is calling us to join him in His work. In fact, Chris states that "our job is to sow seeds of faith through steps of obedience", and that is exactly what we discuss.

This week, the Israelite defeat at Ai, a seemingly minor setback after their monumental victory at Jericho, serves as a potent reminder that even after great triumphs, complacency and disobedience can lead to significant consequences. This humbling experience laid bare crucial lessons about the importance of unwavering obedience to divine commands, the destructive nature of hidden sin within a community, and the necessity of seeking God in ALL things.

This week, Robert starts the discussion in Judes 2:1-6 where the angel of the Lord addressed the disobedience of the Israelites to drive the nations out of the promise land. We walk through the original promise, the command, and how the Israelites fall short of what God called them to do. We point out two things... First, the Israelites did what they could in their power, but they did not rely on God to come through for them in big ways. Second, by not driving out the evil nations, the Israelites simply lived in the midst of the pagan culture which ultimately was their downfall. We hope that as you listen to this episode you learn how to study scripture, seek to step into what God is calling you into, and that you choose to be set apart.

This week, Chris takes us through he has been reading this week. We discuss the seven woes to the Pharisees in Matthew 23, and we ask the hard question of "what would this look like in our own life?" It is a great self reflective deep dive into some pretty hard hitting scripture. Chris gives some good questions to ask ourselves as we consider this section of scripture.

This week we discuss trusting God. Robert talks about how God is taking him through learning to trust him with his grown kids. Chris describes how his time in the high ropes relates to trust in God. That the more time Chris spent in the high ropes the more he learned to trust his ropes. Similarly, the more we learn to trust God in the tough times, the less stressful future challenges become.

This week we get back to the basics and discuss Chris's time reading Psalms. As we read through Psalms 112, we discuss how read through Bible. We discuss the questions we ask and the observations we make. We hope you will find this to be encouraging, and even equip you with a few new ways to read and study scripture.
