Although the Lord anointed Saul with the Holy Spirit and provided him with everything he needed, Saul refused to recognize God as his source of life. Choosing to live out of his lack, in rebellion, he despised the Word of the Lord and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. In self-righteousness, Saul blamed others for his choices. The Holy Spirit’s anointing on our life doesn’t guarantee we walk in relationship with Christ.

There is a difference between false repentance that is feelings oriented and true repentance that rises from an inner conviction of grief over sin and the breaking of relationship with the Lord and those one has wounded.
