Leymah Gbowee, winner of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize, recounts her role in launching the women's peace movement that helped bring an end to the civil war in Liberia in 2003. She and others were credited with ushering in a period of peace and freedom that led to the election of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in 2005, the first female president of an African nation. Gbowee is presented by the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice at the University of San Diego.
