Leymah Gbowee, winner of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize, recounts her role in launching the women's peace movement that helped bring an end to the civil war in Liberia in 2003.  She and others were credited with ushering in a period of peace and freedom that led to the election of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in 2005, the first female president of an African nation. In December 2020, Jennifer Doudna received her Nobel Prize in Chemistry during a small, socially-distanced ceremony at her home - followed by takeout. The traditional celebration will have to wait until next year. A videographer and photographer captured the intimate gathering and presentation of the gold medal by Barbro Osher, Sweden’s Honorary Consul General in San Francisco, with Anna Sjöström Douagi representing the Nobel Foundation.
