This spontaneous message was unplanned, and released with the weight of the Spirit heavily upon Jeff Lyle as he spoke it forth. In these last chapters before the return of our King, it is of highest importance that the Church return to the original understanding of what it means for someone to have eternal life in Jesus Christ. What does the born again life look like? Could it be that scores of church goers are deceived into a false Gospel? The answer is Yes. Listen and consider your own profession of faith. Breakthroughs always prove to be worth waiting for. We often struggle because we know that He is truly the God of our breakthroughs, but He is clearly not the God of full disclosure concerning how and when those breakthroughs will come. He stretches our faith and calls us to continue firming up our own trust-muscle. As Joseph has been waiting for God to bring Joseph’s prophetic dreams into reality, thirteen difficult years have gone by. Now, in the perfection of God’s timing, Joseph steps into long seasons of favor, breakthroughs, blessings and abundance. From his faithful example, we learn how to wait on God for those things which He has spoken over us. It is not easy to do so - but it is always glorious when we continue to trust and obey the designs of God for our lives. This message is for all who are hungry for breakthrough to find them in their season of trust and patience.

Most every Christian understands the idea that we are to be people of faith. We are saved by grace through our faith in Jesus’ redeeming work. We know that we are to trust God by faith as we live our daily lives. In recent years, cultural and global difficulties have provided an opportunity for many Jesus-followers to diagnose just how much of their lives are truly being lived out by trusting God. We have been made aware of things that have served as replacements for our trust in God. We often call these things “crutches" that prop us up. God is ushering in a season for His people where we will no longer be allowed any lesser loyalties to rob us from living lives of deep trust and confident faith in who He is. This message highlights some important issues about our need for greater faith, and it also asks us some questions that we need to be able to answer for ourselves. What God is offering his people will only be experienced by those who deepen in their trust of Him. Now is the time for our biggest YES ever to what God is offering.

When many believers enter glory after they die, there will be awaiting for them a startling revelation. What will this blazing moment of enlightenment contain? A sudden awareness of how many times on earth that they quit right before their breakthrough would have occurred. We who follow Jesus by faith can often be tempted to become frustrated and untrusting as we wait on God’s timing to come to pass. It is unusual for God to give us an exact calendar date in the future for something we believe He will do for us. He does not always disclose the means by which He will bring our breakthroughs or answers to us. He is most often calling us to a deeper level of trust, and to resist the urge to take matters into our own hands. In this scene from Joseph’s life, we learn the beautiful reward that comes to those who wait upon the Lord. When our dreams meet His timing, soul-enriching breakthrough occurs.

In this episode, Amy Lyle joins Jeff to discuss a strong warning she heard from God about a common and growing danger among Christians. Far more are walking in great risk and likely minimizing in their hearts what the Lord thinks (and has said in Scripture!) about this troubling trend. Every servant of God eventually acknowledges his or her own limitations. We discover that there is only one Savior, one rescuer, one omni-capable individual who can handle any load at any time. The rest of us eventually come to that humbling season when our truest and best prayer becomes, “Help me.” Thankfully, none of this surprises nor disappoints God. He knows better than we do the point of our limitations. He understands that, try as we might, we are not spiritual super-heroes. Eventually, we have to remove our cape and wisely admit that life is just too much for our own strengths and gifts. In this message, we explore a famous offer from Jesus to all who are overtaxed and under-resourced. What doe sit mean to get under the yoke with Jesus? What does it mean for the christian to exchange his or her load for getting under the load to which Jesus invites us? There is no need to fear because He graciously and powerfully invites the weak and weary to come to His side. He invites us all to remove our capes.

One test of the depth of our trust in God is revealed when we do the right thing, but it does not bring about the desired results. Joseph has shown that he is deeply committed to honor God and to faithfully serve others. Even though he has endured incredible mistreatment, his heart is fixed on continuing to trust God and to use all that God has given him for God’s glory. As Joseph is now living in an Egyptian dungeon for a crime he never committed, God returns Joseph’s anointing for dream interpretation. Joseph’s use of this gift provides an extremely encouraging possibility of being released from the dungeon. Yet, when all is said and done, the favor and anointing God has given Joseph do not change his circumstances. Once again, we find ourselves instructed about growing in trust, operating in anointing and blessing others when our own personal circumstances may cause us to feel perpetually stuck.

Christians living for the glory of God will be assigned territory to claim for His glory. Sometimes this territory is geographical. Sometimes it is relational. Sometimes it is cultural. Regardless of how the territory is defined and assigned by God, the Christian life is one of Kingdom advancement. And all of Hell will fight against that victory happening through you. This is why we need an impartation of holy, Spirit-filled confidence. In this episode of Truth Shots, Jeff challenges the listener to be emboldened in the will of God. What if you were called to believe that you were invincible as you walk out God’s will for your life? Joshua was told exactly that, and then he was able to impart that same truth to others. The result? Israel brought conquest to the promised territory wherein there were fortified cities, trained armies, and demonized opposition awaiting them. Joshua needed to hear from God at the onset that God would not let him fall. We need to hear the same thing for our own lives.

In the days wherein Christianity has been consistently presented as a relationship solely between God and an individual, we have all but lost the concept that to be a Christian is not only to become one with God, but to become one with all other Christians. The early Christians knew nothing of a faith that could reconcile them to God but not reconcile them with others. The reason why is because Jesus never allowed for the idea that we could be made right with God, yet still live in a state of fractured fellowship with each other. In fact, Jesus actually taught that if will do not forgive others, it is evidence that we have never truly experienced the forgiveness of God for ourselves. Using a striking illustration, Jesus shows why Christians must be constantly and proactively forgiving people. Our willingness to forgive everyone for everything is evidence that we have an understanding and proper value for just how forgiven we are by God. The forgiven will not withhold forgiveness.

There may be no harder season to resist temptation than the season in which we have been done wrong by others. There is something that rises up against us which seeks to undercut our Kingdom convictions and commitments when we have felt the sting of mistreatment, injustice or circumstantial defeat. The enemy accuses, “Why bother doing the right thing - it didn’t do you any good!” In these seasons, our spiritual resolve can decrease, and we might find ourselves becoming something other than who we know that God would have us to be. Not Joseph! After being sold into slavery by his brothers, he immediately enters a season where he is falsely accused, wrongfully imprisoned and then forgotten by those he helped. His amazing response to these difficulties brought Joseph victory instead of victimhood. He mightily overcame the temptation to despair. We must learn from his inspiring example.
