Mike and Jay open the preview of this midweek supporters’ episode with a discussion of transgender awareness in the wake of the recent International Transgender Day of Remembrance. They get into whether Capitol bathrooms should be open to Delaware Democratic Representative Sarah McBride – the first openly trans person to serve in Congress – as well as other issues surrounding transgender policy.

Next is a look at Donald Trump’s call to eliminate the Department of Education. Neither Jay nor Mike think that will happen, but Republicans have been pushing for it ever since the agency was created in 1979. Jay explains what Republicans have against the Department of Education, and along the way, Jay and Mike find at least some common ground.

They close by addressing listener questions on Jay’s critique of capitalism, diversity in Trump’s cabinet, and if it’s time for a law prohibiting political retribution.
