Transitioning from Trauma to Home: Off-Base Transition Training (OBTT) Program
Every year, approximately 200,000 men and women leave U.S. military service and return to life as civilians, a process known as the military to civilian transition. While we can't change the past, we can work towards providing better resources and support for our veterans as they transition back to civilian life.
Meet an organization who has stepped in to help aid our vets as they test a new pilot program aimed at providing an opportunity for veterans, veterans currently serving in the National Guard and Reserve, and their spouses to take control of their careers and lives through workshops to help meet their employment goals.
Off-Base Transition Training (OBTT), an extension of the Department of Labor's Transition Assistance Program. OBTT offers employment-focused training for veterans, including those currently serving in the Reserve Component (National Guard and Reserve members), and their spouses. Their workshops are short, educational modules that cover a range of topics such as job search techniques, resume essentials, interview skills, federal hiring, LinkedIn, employment rights, and more! OBTT is committed to helping veterans and their families transition from military to civilian life by providing them with the necessary tools to succeed in the workforce.
