You pull up to a stoplight, there is nobody around, it’s just you. You sit there for an entire two minute light because it is on nothing but a timer. That is something we deal with for some stoplights, but most nowadays have sensors built in allowing the light to know when someone is waiting. In London, however, most of their lights are still timer-based causing quite the backup during rush-hour.
