  • Frank Henenlotter's FRANKENHOOKER!

On this very special episode of the show that talks about stuff on purpose, we're discussing cult film director Frank Henenlotter's 1990 masterpiece Frankenhooker, the touching story of an amateur scientist who refuses to give up on the woman he loves after she's torn to bits by an errant remote control lawnmower, and the extreme lengths he goes through to bring her back to life. This movie is really something special, and since it's that special time of year, we figure you dear listeners deserve a gift from your friends here at TRAPPO. This is it. Happy holidays. Frankenhooker has been nestled under your trees this year by a creepy clown in a soiled Santa costume. Enjoy it.

Join the conversation! Leave a comment on the official TRAPPO blog telling us what you think of Frankenhooker, and while you're at it tell us what you've been up to. Have you been listening to any cool music? Seen any good movies? Tell us all about it! Share your stories with us! Of course if you're feeling more verbose, you could always send us an email, which we always appreciate. And don't forget to follow us on Instagram and Twitter for the complete TRAPPO experience.

  • TRAPPO's Mail Bag #16!

Welcome back to the show that talks about you on purpose! It's a brand-new episode of TRAPPO's Mail Bag, and it's just jam-packed with listener feedback! This particularly combative episode addresses such varied topics as Kee Avil's haunting album Crease, Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket, controversies surrounding our long-awaited (and under-appreciated) B-52s Mixtape, the 1986 cinematic disaster Howard The Duck, Madonna's stone-cold classic breakthrough album Like A Virgin, St. Vincent's modern classic Masseduction, the incredibly talented artist Danz CM, and so, so much more!

Fair warning: things get... a little weird... in the back half of the episode.

Join the conversation! Leave a comment on the official TRAPPO blog and tell us what you think about the show and what you'd like to hear us tackle in future episodes! • TRAPPO's "Spooky" Mail Bag!

In this very spooky edition of the show that talks about you on purpose, we address a bunch of comments left on the old blog that referred to our trio of Halloween-related episodes we released back in October. That's why it's called TRAPPO's "Spooky" Mail Bag, in case you were wondering. We figured we'd just put all those comments together under one roof for your convenience. It's a pretty decent episode, too. Some good feedback. Some funny responses. We have a pretty good little community here, and we're very appreciative of everybody who takes the time to leave us a comment and tell us what they think.

You can join our cozy little community if you're interested. It's pretty easy. All you have to do is visit our official TRAPPO blog and leave a comment on the post of your choosing. Tell us what you think of the show. Constructive criticism is always appreciated. By the way, have you heard any good music lately? Seen any cool movies? Read any interesting literature? Tell us all about it. We love your suggestions. You could also send us an email if you're not into the whole brevity thing. We love emails, too. We're also on Instagram and Twitter (as long as the platform is still operational and hasn't been completely co-opted by the alt-right), and we might pop up on some other social media platforms in the future if it becomes necessary.

  • TRAPPO's Mail Bag #15!

The mail bag is open once again to address listener feedback! And this is a pretty special episode, dear listener. This time around, we're talking about good and bad comic book shop experiences, we recommend the brilliant YouTube channel CinemaTyler for satisfying Stanley Kubrick discussion, how Perfect Dark 64 is the superior title to the legendary GoldenEye 64, TRAPPO's abiding love for spicy mustard, werewolves in cinema, the music of Dawn Richard and so much more in this epic-length Mail Bag extravaganza! And we wrap things up with addressing a recent comment thread on the blog that starts innocuously enough, then it gets pretty real, to say the least. Fair warning: there are some frank depictions of real physical assaults in this thread, so click away if you don't want to have to deal with some pretty heavy themes. It's a wild ride this week, dear listeners.

It's spooky season, and so we've decided to record a lengthy chat on the recent Hellraiser reboot for Hulu this week on the show that talks about stuff on purpose! And I do mean lengthy. This week's episode isn't quite our longest yet, but it's very close, so fair warning. We get into a very in-depth and varied discussion that covers all the relevant bases regarding the movie and the franchise in general, so if you haven't seen the movie yet and don't want to be spoiled, you might want to skip listening to this episode for now. It's the 14th installment of the show that talks about you on purpose! And in this delightful episode we discuss a wide range of topics including the upcoming Willy Wonka prequel directed by the guy behind the recent Paddington movies and The Mighty Boosh, our process behind preparing to record an episode of TRAPPO, the different film adaptations of Frank Herbert's Dune and that adorable pug that just keeps popping up in David Lynch's film, the state of modern science fiction cinema, feedback on Angel Olsen's Whole New Mess, our ceaseless adoration of punk legends The Stooges, controversial opinions on direct-to-video sequels to mediocre theatrical horror movies,  and so much more! Put it in your ears and enjoy the ride!

One final note before we part: A Danzig poll was promised before the end of September in this episode, and that never happened. The long-awaited poll will go live on the blog on Tuesday, October 25th. Thanks for listening!

  • TRAPPO's Mail Bag #13!

TRAPPO's Mail Bag has returned for its unlucky 13th installment! And to celebrate this momentous occasion, we're keeping things light with a shorter episode. I know that's not terribly exciting for you, dear listener, but we weren't exactly keeping track of the numbers here. And let's be honest, is the 13th installment of anything really that big a deal? Anyway, this time around we're talking about legendary avant-garde jazz musician Miles Davis, deranged indie rock band Starcrawler, the possibility of a potential TRAPPO's Book Club, a deep dive into Chrystabell's transcendent Midnight Star (again), the blog is visited by infernal royalty, and some other stuff, I guess. Happy 13th mail bag!

  • The Super-Controversial Live Action Batman Rankings Episode!

This time around, we're trying something a bit different here by taking a closer look at all of the live action Batman movies. All of the live action Batman solo movies, so none of the Zack Snyder stuff here, and no discussion of the various animated incarnations of the Caped Crusader either. But don't lose hope, because those might just be topics of future episodes. Your hosts will each be sharing their personal rankings of all these movies, from worst to first, and as the title suggests, the picks may be a tad controversial in some circles. But we fear no reprisal, so let the bloodbath begin!

Join the conversation! Leave a comment on the official TRAPPO blog telling us your own live action Batman rankings, and while you're there you might as well suggest topics for future episodes, because that's always very much appreciated. If you're feeling more verbose, a friendly email would always be warmly received. And don't forget to follow us on Instagram and Twitter for the complete TRAPPO experience.
